I went to go to bed and there sitting on my lovely White Company sheet was an enormous spider. I am scared of spiders. However since DH is away and I am alone with my cat (no help whatsoever) I quickly got the Hoover and sucked him up and emptied the bag. Now I am as tense as a coiled spring. Aibu to sit up all night just in case his relatives come for revenge? Wwyd?

You really need to empty the kitchen bin before you go to sleep.

I woke up the other day and there was a huge dead spider by my arm. I must have squashed him in the night.

I don't mind spiders but that did make my skin crawl a bit.

Why are they always lurking in beds???

I hopped into bed a few weeks ago (DH was working nights) and there, on the sheet, as I pulled the covers over was a bloody big spider down at the bottom.

So I threw a book at it, it fell off belligerently, then I bashed it with my slipper.

And why are they out and about just now? It's not August or September!!

DS found a dead one once...

If it were a house spider, I'd be careful. They live in pairs and mate for life. If one of them is killed and it was the male, the female will grieve by laying eggs on the spot her mate has passed away. She will also turn poisonous to be able to protect herself now she has no mate. So I hope the spider didn't have balls.
