To worry about animal hoarding

Watching animal hoarders and one woman has 300 cats!

I know it's an American program but I know it's a problem over here too.

How on earth to people get into these situations. Surely the animals can not get the care they require

I should add, of the cats left behind, apart from the black one I had and the old one the other neighbour had, the rest had been ferals she was feeding in her back garden.

After she moved out, hey dispersed back to the feral colonies in barns, etc, over the field.

We found the black one crying behind the freezer left in her outhouse. It went back there for weeks, crying loudly all day. We kept bringing her back and back til she settled with us.
