My ex MIL always used to present a box of these each Christmas, you were only allowed one though as she would take the box around various relatives.

The Haribo ads induce an incredibly strong reaction in me. I want to punch all of them. In the face. I'd take chicken madras lady on constant repeat over the winsome cuntery that is those faux child voices.

mumoseven · 07/04/2016 10:11

Toffee-iffy!
I also don't even understand the Morrison's clock family ad.
The vanish gold ads (conversation!)make me think that's what MN would be like if it wasn't for the swears.
I haven't got out much this Easter hols

So agree @ acoustic, emotional versions of rock/pop standards + tofifi + chicken madras ad break = commercial break hell.

I've not tried Tofifi (or whatever) on principle. Likewise, I have managed not to notice what chicken madras-woman is actually advertsising (I'm guessing it's not generic chicken madras).

I have to confess I like the child-voice Haribo thing. Goodness knows why. I think I like it because it made me realise how children's vocal sentences are punctuated and emphasised in really extraordinary ways. They put a lot of energy into speaking, don't they?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 07/04/2016 10:29

I'm getting angry just thinking about the Chicken Madras woman.

The haribo advert has passed me by. I bet I'm going to see it everywhere now, but it's been blissful to this point.

TheoriginalLEM · 07/04/2016 10:33

the very thing that irks me about the haribo ads is that children don't talk like that!

yes toffeefee can fuck off.As can worthers original. thise advertsgive me the pip

TheoriginalLEM · 07/04/2016 10:34

and they don't taste of strawwwwberry!

HatieKokpins · 07/04/2016 10:46

Fucking love Toffifee, me. Better without the random knob of dark chocolate off the top though. I do not eat them by scraping the praline out with my teeth and saving the toffee till last though. But I know someone who does.

MiffleTheIntrovert · 07/04/2016 10:47

Does anyone remember their first visit to the caramel shop? What the actual fuck is a caramel shop?

YABU though as Toffifee are fucking yummy

KittenOfWoe · 07/04/2016 10:48

I love toffeeffeeffeeffeeeees and I hate you all now because I really want some....

Bloody chicken madras beast. Hate that advert. Irrationally hate that she crows the word madras like a parrot..... "madraaaAAAAaas" grr.

thecatfromjapan · 07/04/2016 11:14

The Haribo ad is real children talking - a tape-recording of a session with children - lyp-synched by adults.

mmgirish · 07/04/2016 11:18

I LOVE them! so YABU.

weirdsister · 07/04/2016 11:19

I've never had a toffeefee. They look like those toffees that are past their sell by date and have gone soft.

There is fun in a bag of revels now that they've got rid of the nuts.

PageStillNotFound404 · 07/04/2016 11:51

Does anyone remember their first visit to the caramel shop?

That's favourite caramel shop, Miffle. You mean you don't have dozens of them to choose from? How unusual. Apparently.

Zaphodsotherhead · 07/04/2016 11:58

Please, do not get me started on the Just Eat adverts. Even my student kids won't have any truck with Just Eat, they shout at the screen 'Just COOK!'

Anyway, there isn't anyone around here who delivers takeaways. MASSIVE SULK.

TheoriginalLEM · 07/04/2016 12:22

have you looked on Justeat?....Grin

KittenOfWoe · 07/04/2016 14:44

My brother's German pen friend's Dad owned the company that made Toffiffee.

We got LOADS of free choc back in the eighties. They also made these delicious chocolate mini finger sized bars that were coffee and cream flavoured and you could dip in your cappuccino I think they supply the ALDI chocolate now.

With us the Toffiffees were always the last one left and I've never actually bought any.

mumoseven · 08/04/2016 21:01

The Bensons bed ad 'over the years your mattress goes through a lot'.
Yeah.
I just shouted 'yours mums mattress!'
