Don't get me wrong I know you want to show off your grandchildren. However my MIL is always posting pictures of DD and uses them as her profile picture. I don't mind a few going up, however I have problem with her using a picture of just DD alone as her profile picture as anyone and everyone can see it. I don't like too many photos of her floating around the Internet, you never know who's looking at them.

Ask your DP to have a word, it may be better coming from him not from you to minimise fallout. Not an unreasonable request to reduce the pictures, I think there are a lot of people who need to be more mindful about the digital footprint we are all leaving for our children.

YANBU. But a lot of people will tell you you are.

SIL once had a picture of just DS as her profile picture (the nephew she never bothered to see or interact with). I didn't like it and asked DH to say something. I think she took it down before he had chance actually.

DH's cousin is into photography and had some pictures of DS and put them all on FB. I had a nose at her profile and she had hundreds of friends and her profile wasn't private in the slightest. Everything was public. I got DH to message her to take them off as well. I put some pictures on but not many, DH doesn't put anything on. I don't like how everyone has to overshare everything on bloody social media these days.

How many are 'too many'?

If you're ok with just one then it shouldn't matter how many more there are really.

Once they're on the internet you can kiss them goodbye.

The question you have to ask yourself is, what is the problem here? If one is okay, but more aren't then I'm genuinely stumped as to what it is you don't like.

I also don't really know why the vast majority of people don't like photographs of their children on line. If you're worried about some dirty old man looking at them then you shouldn't be. There's much, much worse easily available; your child playing in the park isn't the kind of thing found on seized computers.

OP I just told my friend about this. It's the height of ignorance in my opinion!
