My little dear started growing lovely needle sharp teeth at just under 5 months and biting. Very ouchy. I screeched NO a couple of times, quite involuntarily, and she stopped.

Can you shove one of her hands under your armpit and hold the top one? If she gets really cross, 8 months is old enough to learn that if she scratches the milk goes away. I taught both dd's that about biting a bit younger and it only took a couple of times being plonked in the floor and having to wait for a couple of minutes for them to get the message. Much easier to do now than at 2yo when she can really tantrum...

Use a muslin to drape over yourself. If that fails cut her fingers off

OH, God, this reminds of a dream I had when pregnant with my first child. I dreamt I gave birth to a litter a kittens and was nursing them, I could feel their pin like little claws on my boobs..woke up to scratch marks on my chest!

Witch that reminds me of when my ds was very little and sleeping in with me, I dreamt there was an insect or something irritating my nipple so was swatting it, turns out it was ds latching on and suckling and I was batting his little face away.
