About Andy's prehistoric adventures?

Why doesn't Jen have a uniform? Andy had a uniform when he was Hattie's assistant in dinosaur adventures. Jen also appears to have been styled by someone in 1995
On this same topic, I think Jen and Andy may be friends with benefits.
not jealous, no no no
I may admit I've watched quite lot of Andy in the last 2months. Still sad the fabled silver spaceman suit from MN legend thread appears to have been erased.

I miss Hattie too.

I love Andy loved wild adventures and Dino adventures but the CGI on this series is so dreadful even my ds doesn't want to watch it

MummySparkle · 23/03/2016 21:32

It's the old 'walking with dinosaurs' footage I think figgygal

Jen is definitely madly in love with Andy. Not sure Andy feels the same way, but he seems happy to get a bit of action

Swannykazoo · 24/03/2016 08:33

I like the Mrs Pickles hoping for some Andy action theory. It explains the mystery disappearance of Hattie (sacked as love rival in tribunal worthy dismissal) and Mrs Pickles' slight frostiness to Jen.

I thought it was a different museum, so Hattie is still working there and Andy moved maybe to a different department or museum.

Jen is the qualified one with a degree and Andy is some sort of "helper".

Mrs Pickles is the wife of Mr Pickles, they had a long affair at the Animal park and now she has tracked him down. She hasn't a clue about Prehistoric matters and its hoping she doesn't get found out.

CurlyBlueberry · 24/03/2016 09:36

What gets me is his reckless abandoning of modern artifacts in the past. What are paleontologists supposed to think when they unearth a red umbrella next to a dinosaur?!

CorBlimeyTrousers · 24/03/2016 11:47

Curly - that is a very good point!

I always think it's such a waste of a portal to the time of the dinosaurs - often Andy just pops back to get some ferns, or berries or a sand dollar he could pick up nowadays. And poor Hattie had no idea that she could be studying the dinosaurs for real :(

CurlyBlueberry · 24/03/2016 11:50

Agreed on poor Hattie. I love Hattie!

IceBeing · 24/03/2016 11:54

He is just...so....tall....creepy tall imho.

museumum · 24/03/2016 11:59

Mrs pickles is a crap palaeontologist. She can't tell the difference between fossilised dung and fresh!!!!

Andy should not be in a gallery attendants uniform if he prepares displays!

But I love the programme :)

Chillyegg · 24/03/2016 12:14

Sorry all but Andy definitely isn't yummy.

His Teeth are witened, and he most definately gets a fake take tan.

He's also just a little bit too old to be trying to pull of that boyish silly bouncy thing he's trying to do.
The CGI is shite and so is the 'whats on your plate ' program.

Chillyegg · 24/03/2016 12:14

.....wonders of to watch repeats of Hey Duggy and Dino Paws

Mumsywumsywoo · 24/03/2016 12:17

Is Andy Fatima Whitbreads son? Resemblance is uncanny

DragonboysMum · 24/03/2016 12:21

Andy can sod off. He's bloody everywhere!

pocketsized · 24/03/2016 12:26

I want to know why no one has noticed that Allah replacement things he brings back aren't actually fossilised...

Serenitymummy · 24/03/2016 17:11

He reminds me of that episode of Doctor Who (the first one with Chris Eccelston?) where people are taken over by mannequins and have scary fake teeth and skin tone. And why in DA was he clueless while talking to Hattie but a total expert once he got back in time?

Currently loving how painful the janitors acting is in PA, you can tell he desperately doesn't want to be there.

oliviaclottedcream · 24/03/2016 17:54

You think he'd take a video camera with him, sell the footage for a fucking fortune and he wouldn't have to stand around all day at that poxy museum. BTW there's no such place as the national museum.

HattiesBackpack · 24/03/2016 18:17

Ahh I'm also forced into watching endless repeats of Andy's adventures (see name!) - and have had to endure many a day trip to the NHM with DS in full adventuring get up, including home made Gizmo.

*disclaimer- gizmo doesn't actually work

I reckon there is definitely after hours between Mrs Pickles and Andy!

notquitehuman · 24/03/2016 18:29

Andy should pay attention to Doctor Who. You're not supposed to do things that might interrupt the space time continum wotsit. Surely stealing a bunch of artefacts from the past will change history?

Playthegameout · 24/03/2016 18:38

I am baffled by Andy's ability to avoid explaining where he gets his prehistoric trinkets from. Also I echo how bad Mrs Pickles and Jen are at spotting the difference between the real artifacts and the fake. I hope Hattie has gone back to her roots and is off somewhere exciting making a monumental discovery.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 24/03/2016 20:40

... Ooooh I agree with everyone, I have found my people... Mwah mwah and hugs all round :)

I started an AIBU about Andy but got torn to shreds, more dangerous in AIBU than most of Andys Prehistoric Adventures put together!

It used to be factually accurate (except for the whole time travel thing, but now it's gone all fantastical and weird. Boooo.

Pagetta · 24/03/2016 21:47

this discussion fills me with so much joy! Grin

I just mentioned to DH that andy should just come back in time 5 minutes earlier so he's not always rushing, but apparently "time is relative darling that wouldn't work - einstein's theory and all that" - i have no idea wtf he's talking about but apparently he already gave this one some thought!!

Im never going to look at mrs pickles the same way again after reading this!

CaveMum · 24/03/2016 21:57

DD (aged 2) loves Andy's Dinosaurs and the Prehistoric Adventures. We watch them on iplayer, a lot.

The CGI is recycled from the Walking With Dinosaurs and the like, so it's bound to look odd as its about 10-15 years old!

Agree that Hattie and Mrs Pickles need to go back to Uni if they can't tell the difference between a real item and a fossil. Or polystyrene for that matter (see the Triceratops episode).

YoJesse · 24/03/2016 22:01

My ds loves dinosaurs but has a deep hatred of this programme and screams 'offfff' when it comes on. What does he know that I don't?
Also Andy is not cute, at all Grin

YouAreMyRain · 24/03/2016 22:23

DS (2) loves Andy (and his hat for some reason) but I agree that he is reckless with leaving modern day artefacts back in prehistory and he is totally fucking with science (especially carbon dating) by bringing unfossilised stuff back to the present day (unless the time travel forwards to the present day accelerates the ageing/carbon decay of the prehistoric stuff which Andy is somehow protected from by his living status or his protective relationship with the clock)
And yes, how come no bacteria/viruses/microorganisms/insects hitch a ride and come back either on Andy or his stuff? We need a sequel to APH - a horror style one which serves as a warning to any lackadaisical time travellers.

Wastinmylifeaway · 24/03/2016 22:35

"Andy - sorry but I can't get past the uncanny similarity to Fatima Whitbread"

This.

Used to have a thing for him, 'twas soon cured after some lovely mumsnetter pointed out this FACT
