should I ask for money for trousers?

I work in a clean environment. Wore a new pair of trousers today for first time. The cleaner was off sick. We were having a special visitor. I was asked if I could clean the kitchen. I said that was fine. I used cilit bang all purpose cleaner. I've just noticed my new black trousers have orange marks on them like bleach so must be off the cilit bang.

Would you ask for the money for the trousers?

I think you had no choice but to ask for it really, it's not your fault that the cleaning product available was a bleach based one. It doesn't matter how careful you are with them, the spray is very fine and easy to get on your clothes.

Yeah I didn't deliberately ask for the money but I just commented, in a light hearted way.

I love my boss too. Shame he's married.

I have a particular dress, and if I get cillit bang on it, it gets marks on that look exactly like bleach damage. But when I wash it, they vanish!!!
