Sorry if there is a thread for this but couldn't see it.

Sarah had one contraction out of the blue. They called an ambulance.

She's 35 weeks pregnant.

Is this real?

Gary's RL gf is very pretty too.

In real life though, he's an actor who's famous & presumably wealthy - neither of which apply to Gary!

Jake was on about 2 weeks ago. Lily put in an appearance today.

and why has Fizz suddenly developed a little trotting walk like a frisky ginger filly ?

I was going to start a thread asking how common it is to go into soap-style labour, from zero to doubled-up-in-agony in one second.

Report
AnyFucker · 21/03/2016 23:28

Very common presentation of labour, that. In Soapland.

Report
SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 21/03/2016 23:36

Tbf that is usually first labour in soapland.
Couple of people I know did find second labour went a bit quicker and early labour can be even quicker.

She did have time to assemble: her gran, her ex, her dbro, other dbro, her mum and her sil before actually droppin.

If it had been neighbours she'd have given birth in the florists with her tights still on.

The question is where was her dad and why has no one even mentioned him?? Did he not just move to Cheshire or something? It's hardly too far for a visit.

Derek Griffiths is in Corrie?!!

That man is a bloody legend and the voice of my childhood. Can't believe some posters don't know who he is! or are too young to remember him

Report
AnyFucker · 21/03/2016 23:59

I remember him.

I just don't understand his completely pointless, boring and interminable monologues about the wife that never even made an appearance on the street

Yes, I know it's not real...

AnyFucker · 22/03/2016 00:00

Perhaps he will turn out to be Kylie's dad or summat.

He'll end up randomly being someone's dad. It seems to be the in thing at the moment on the soaps.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 00:16

I think he'll die soon and leave his house to Kylie for being so good at nails n all.

Why has Shaun suddenly become a northern/Yorkshire caricature? Everything is "ay up chuck" or "appen this" "appen that". Fuck off

"The question is where was her dad and why has no one even mentioned him?? Did he not just move to Cheshire or something? It's hardly too far for a visit."

She's full sister to Nick, so her birth father is dead (stabbed outside a nightclub). Martin Platt adopted her. He went off to Liverpool (I think) and has never been seen again. Though David sometimes goes and visits him for a couple of weeks and comes back with a tan

Report
SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 00:46

But if he adopted her, he's her dad. You'd think someone might say we better phone Martin and tell him he's a grandad for 5th time.

Fifth?

Bethany Billy and new baby. Lily (David hasn't adopted Max), that makes four. Nick didn't adopt Simon, and he's not got any other DC, has he?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 01:14

I thought David did adopt Max. Or did the fall by wayside with the whole Nick thing?

My waters broke at similar time. My neighbour gave us a lift to hospital and I was left in antenatal ward for hours alone because they sent DH home.

David hasn't adopted Max. Because it was all part of the dreadful Callum storyline.

Callum wanted to be paid to relinquish his parental status. They hadn't got the money. Threats escalated, then Sarah brought him to the Platt house and (after some very implausible over acting in the implausible scuffle) Kylie whacked him over the head.

There has been no move on the adoption since, because they know Callum cannot be located to relinquish his rights, and they definitely do not want his disappearance investigated.

I happened to watch yesterday, but haven't been doing so much (despite having started watching in the 1970s) precisely because it is so awful and has been pretty much unwatchable for some time now - see many, many posts on the main thread.

But the new team must be in place soon, so I'm watching just enough to keep abreast with it in the hope of knowing what's going on as it turns a corner for the better.
