Every time. Every damn time! Someone on here suggested it as a good film for toddlers so I got it last week & they were right, my toddler adores it, is fascinated by the monkey & asks for it every day. But it makes me cry!! The monkey reminds me of my toddler is a real bitter-sweet way (fun-loving, cute and constantly getting into trouble!), the points where the monkey is lonely or feels rejected, I can't bear it, I tear up!! Even my 5 year old got teary over it! AIBU? Do I simply need to get a grip?!

I took DS1 to see this shortly after the birth of DS2. I bawled my eyes out all the way through the film because the little monkey reminded me of my newborn. I was heartbroken being away from my newborn for that amount of time and couldn't wait to get home.

I watch the series now with DD but don't think I could cope with the film yet.

This thread has just made my day! I always seems to be an emotional wreck during curious George, up and big hero 6, but the worst is toy story 3 when Andy gives up his toys. I'm such a soppy cow! Grin

Ok so is the series less likely to make me cry?! didn't realise there was a series, is it on Disney Junior? So no separation, no need for nuzzling in?! can't stop looking at GIF further up thread and just about resisting the urge to go nuzzle in with as she sleeps! It's that completely trusting look of innocence the monkey gives, isn't it, it get me every time! I've watched it too much, I'm reading messages about work/life balance and all sorts into it FFS.

When DD was tiny I full on wept at the bit in Dumbo where Mrs Jumbo rocks Dumbo through the bars of her trailer. I used to sing 'Baby of Mine' to DD and sob. I am crying as I write this just thinking of it

momentarily blindsided by the real-life hot Ted!....--

So was I Grin

Yeah the seris is far less emotional.

Ds is five. He reminds me of George so much. They way he looks at me, just looked is at him cuddling George. So bloody cute!

He hasn't been away from that plush since his first birthday. Now you can get them here and I am ordering a new one.

Curious George 2 is quite good and I don't remember crying at that.

Ds has the computer game as well. The music makes me tear upBlush

Lighteningirll · 22/03/2016 07:11

UP is banned in my house I sobbed at that same for Dumbo, Bambi and don't get me started on AI I think it's called I actually went nc with a friend who knows how hard I find that sort of firm and recommended it I still have occasional bad dreams I really don't understand why people make them

Lighteningirll · 22/03/2016 07:13

Thank you teen and lightening Grin

Ooh up, just the thought of up has brought tears to my eyes because the first ten minutes, where he's sat by his wife's bedside, its exactly what my grandad did. And I can never get past that part!
