www.yahoo.com/beauty/decision-circumcise-causes-festering-anger-050904450.html

I know it's just a daft advice column but this man is obviously suffering. In a nutshell he's circumcised and feels immense anger towards his parents for doing that to him and his penis isn't right because the doctor took too much away. He says he was sexually assaulted in primary school but feels more invaded regarding his penis than he did about the assault.

"Abby" says that he might have "misdirected anger" towards his parents when really he's angry about the assault.

Now he may still need help re the assault but who is SHE to say that his anger about being mutilated isn't real?

I honestly think that circumcision in males needs to be made illegal. I don't CARE about religion either. My DH is circumcised...it was "normal" in Australia in the 70s but he HATES his penis being incomplete as he puts it. He feels violated and pissed off about it....our sex life is good but really, having met men who weren't mutilated like this, I know that penises which are complete are easier to handle sexually.

should receive the same contempt as FGM

That seriously is an awful thing to say.

FGM is really severe. It causes life long medical problems with sex and childbirth. It normally causes ongoing pain and a whole host of issues.

Circumcision (which auto correct incidently hates), does not normally cause any future problems. In some instances it is required medically (something that FGM is the total opposite of).

Whether or not you agree with circumcision, it is not comparable to FGM. It is an insult to victims/ sufferers of FGM.

Both should be banned. FGM is worse and has longer lasting effects but both are wrong

The second but first successful penis transplant was in South Africa - apparently he's now conceived a child which is great news for him.

I read the reports at the time and there were some truly shocking statistics - it's done at 18 as a coming of age ceremony but long term harm is very high and subsequent suicides when serve damage is done. There was quite a need for this type of operation there.

I'm not sure about the right and wrong of doing this - I wouldn't consider it without good medical reasons for my children but it's certainly not without harmful risks in some areas where it's practised a lot currently.

No it shouldn't be banned, its fine. Also fyi willies with lots of flesh hanging off the end are not bigger.

Not many operations are life and death, a vanishingly small minority are botched. Your point is?
