my dh has got a cold at the mo, sore throat, headache and a bit of a cough. yesterday he lost his voice, couldn't speak all day, i went out so i bought him some medicine, then i took the dc the park to give him some peace and quiet.
anyway once the dc were in bed he spoke, when i said oh your voice is back he said that he'd been able to talk for ages Hmm

why would you pretend your voice had gone? he was even writing notes.

aibu to be pissed iff and unsympathetic to his minor ailments, hes currently heavy breathing on the settee 😈

Leave him to it. I cannot bear people who milk their illnesses.

He has a cold, not Ebola. You should take the kids and have a nice day. He's perfectly capable of staggering into the kitchen and making himself something to eat. He doesn't need waiting on hand and foot.

Enjoy your lunch.

Gosh, that was a huge stroke of luck! The cynical part of me wonders whether the outcome would've been the same had it been a trip to the supermarket...

i wondered the same thing too JolseBaby

Does he pull his weight elsewhere in the relationship? We all have our faults - and if his just happens to be hypochondria then it's one of those things that irritate you, but you live with it. However if this is just one thing in a long line of things, then it might be time to step back and have a think about how to address these issues.

I am so pleased for him that his illness has been at its worst only when there was boring drudgery to be done. Its great that it happened to get better for all possible leisure activities!
