As in my title I've not had a period for nearly 2 months been to the Dr I'm not pregnant. I've done at least one pregnancy test every other day.
Now I'm getting a stabbing pain in my side and across the pubice bone, the pains so bad I feel sick. The pains on and off for the past 4/5 days. Can't get an appointment untill Monday.
Oh also have of my stomach (my left side) is enlarged and growing
What could it be /what should I do?

Not to scare you op but my aunt went to the hospital and doctors several times with bad aches and they kept sending her away she then found out she had pancres cancer and died 10 months later.
You are not wasting resources, if you are crying and cannot move go to A and E or ATLEAST call NHS direct and see if theres a walk in centre

Angry

I'd get to A&E if I were you. A negative test doesn't rule an ectopic pregnancy out. It's unusual, but not impossible.

Besides which, if you're having unexplained pain, no periods and a swelling in your abdomen, it's best you're seen by a doctor who doesn't appear to be a dickhead.

I'll have to wait till dh is back now.
Not really sure what to do the Dr just kept asking if I needed a poo or had wind.

I really don't have wind or need a fucking poo. ...

Crying with pain isn't normal, and if it continues you should go back.

That said, an ectopic should show on a pregnancy test (like I say, if it gets/stays extreme, do go to A&E) and pancreatic cancer is unlikely and extremely lucky at your age, or in fact any age.

He was probably hoping it was that, tbh. If your walk-in center is anything like mine they really don't like to see anyone unless it's a rash or a sore thumb.

Are painkillers easing it at all?

Report
TattyDevine · 18/03/2016 21:21

If the pain remains unbearable, they will scan you at some point, either in A&E, or with a referral from the GP.

The bowel complaint line isn't an unreasonable one - a digestive issue is not uncommon so not an unreasonable line of questioning. But presumably you know your bowel habits (though it is sometimes hard to know how much trapped wind you might have). Once again, if it is unbearable a scan should shed some light.

If you are in unbearable pain, A&E will be able to progress this.

Definitely go to A&E. I had similar symptoms but with 6 weeks of bleeding so thought there was no way I could be pg; the doctor agreed and sent me away with "wind" twice before another doctor finally sent me to the hospital; it was ectopic and I was bleeding internally. It was excruciating; XH had to carry me upstairs and put me in the bath when it was at it's worst as that was the only thing that helped. Pain that bad is not normal and worth checking over - do it sooner rather than later, you must have a friend who can sit with your little one?

I dont want to disturban anyone so late . Pains got a bit better still bad but not crying now.
Dr asked why I'm stressed is whats making me fume at the moment.

Can you get a private scan? Pretend you are pregnant and get one of those early pregnancy reassurance scans. Cost is around 100. They are all trained sonographers so if they see anything untoward they will tell you.

Chillyegg · 18/03/2016 21:43

Yes could pay for a private scan.
If I still feel like this in the morning I'll go to hospital, I'm pissed of I wasted my time at the drs to be asked if I need to pass wind.

There was a thread similar to this a few days ago and it turned out to be a cyst and she needs it removed. She went to a&e. Definitely go and get a scan. Thanks

I hope that you manage some sleep and get it sorted tomorrow. Call someone if it gets worse - friends will not mind you calling this late, truly.

You need an ultrasound! Go to A&E. Could well be an ovarian cyst if you're not testing positive for pregnancy (which an eptopic would likely come up as).

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 18/03/2016 22:04

I had an ovarian cyst that was painful even though it wasn't particularly big. It was easy to see on an ultrasound. If the pain continues go to a&e because even something like a benign cyst can be problematic and painful if it twists or ruptures.

Go to a&e you need examining properly.

My DH had this a couple years back and it was appendicitis. His was ready to burst.
Have you vomited at all?

Sounds like A&E is needed.

Hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

I went to A&E a few years ago with severe abdominal pain only after DH insisted and they were brilliant. It was taken very seriously. They had me initially assessed very quickly, bloods taken, and I was admitted. The only brief mention of trapped gas was by me saying as a poor joke to the doctor it would be so embarrassing if they got me up on the ward and I let out a massive fart and cured the problem. He asked if I thought it might be gas, I said no, he moved on and was happy to trust what I was saying. I had an ultrasound to rule out appendicitis, but it turned out to be a burst ovarian cyst. At no point was I made to feel like I was wasting their time.
I think you should make a trip to the hospital. The amount of pain you are describing is not normal and could be caused by any number of things. You won't know which thing and how serious it is until they check. If you feel really uncomfortable then call the NHS line instead for advice, but I'll be surprised if they don't tell you to go too.

My friend had an ovarian cyst with similar symptoms to this. She had been told by her GP it was "stress"...in the end she was vomiting with the pain, and couldn't even stand, she had to crawl into the car to be taken into A+E by her Dad. So I agree, go to A+E as soon as you can.
