to tell him to get the fuck off my coat?!

I work in an office. I have a parker style coat with a hood thats lined with fluff. If I put it on the back of my chair, it falls off, i roll on it etc etc. There are 3 spare chairs in the office area and no coat rail/hooks etc. So as these desks/chairs are unoccupied, I pop my coat on the back of the nearest chair. Office area is shared by me and colleague. Every time he walks past my coat he strokes the fucking hood! Didn't bother me at first but he does it all the time now, and when he's coming back from having a fag (I don't smoke). I am willing to hear IABU but it just makes me so fucking angry that he does it.

I exploded this morning and I said to him this morning when he did it "Look, please stop doing that. It drives me nuts" He said why. "I said because it's the same as you walking up to me every time you walk past and stroking my shoulder!"

AIBU to feel annoyed someone accosts my coat in such a fashion?! Sad

Shit. I have stroked coats in the office.
I have stroked fur coats since I was in a stroller, come to think of it. Does it make me a sicko :) ?

In my defence, the coat I caressed in the office was offered for petting to me by the very generous owner.

I'm a bit Shock at the idea of touching other people's stuff! But then I have anxiety issues and would go tits at someone touching my shit Grin

cjt110 · 17/03/2016 12:03

LiviaDrusillaAugusta I have just been diagnosed as having severe depression and anxiety and I think that explains the sheer shock of someone invading my coat and personal stuff in such a way. Glad I'm not alone with anxiety issues making this into a huge fuck off mountain lol Grin

Ewww those juggling balls comments are horrible! "Look at my colourful balls" or "Come and have a juggle of my balls" He sounds like a sleaze. Probably has the balls on his desk solely in order to make those comments.

I wouldn't want his hands anywhere near my coat.

cjt110 · 17/03/2016 12:13

Probably has the balls on his desk solely in order to make those comments. I suspect so, and to draw attentiojn to himself. I work in a mainly male office, so any chace to talk about balls, theyre all over it. Relatively quiet colleague has just walked past en route to the kitchen and said "So, X, has anyone asked for a play with your balls yet" Totally full of innuendo. And several other similar comments have been made by other colleagues in passing.

The guy is just a dick.

When Working in close proximity with others, their foibles can end up driving you potty once you focus on them. I loathe people intruding on my personal space or making unnecessary noise or conversation when I'm not in the mood.

Funny thing is I would find your coat hung over the back of a spare chair irritating and would no doubt find all sorts of ways to hint that it was not the best place to leave it.

Sounds to me that you both find each other irritating.

DementedUnicorn · 17/03/2016 13:08

Oh dear Sad

I sometimes get really stupid compulsions where I need to touch something and I would probably do this! I do usually satisfy my urges sneakily and try my best to do it when no ones looking Blush and I'm pretty normal generally

MrsSteptoe · 17/03/2016 16:08

I'm coming to an office near you soon
With my fluffy coat and an invitation to squeeze
