To worry about disappearing leg hair?

I'm 44 and last summer was shaving my legs as usual. They've had a winter under wraps, and went to shave them last night (holiday in the sun next week) and there's nothing there. Should I be worried or is at an age thing? I know that I've snipped a couple of rogue long ones over winter, but can't have been more than 5.

I think my pits may be a little more sparse than they used to be, but eyesight fuzzy so not 100% sure. Is less body hair a 'thing' or is something wrong? And if it is a thing, how have I not heard of it before now?

Veda I knew you meant tash, I have one of those too.... We sound very similar on the body hair front, lucky us!!

I had a good hard look last night - and bloody hell you were right! 3 new buggers under my chin and arm hair is definitely more sparse. Good news is nipples still bald and no pubic hair migration.

My mother assures me leg armpit and pubic hair tail off, in lieu of chin, cheek, and face in general hair around your age.

Just can't hardly wait can I no I can't.

And grey eyebrows, apparently.

Bring. It. On.

Yep, age.

Am I'm the only one who now shaves her forearms, side of her hands and lower fingers?

This happened to a friend of mine recently. Underactive thyroid.

My leg hair has definitely got sparser in my thirties. It is still there, but I hardly need shave from knees upwards at all and my lower leg hair is very patchy. My pubes seem as luxuriant as ever however, although I now sport two grey pubes in amongst the others, delightfully.

I have never ever shaved my legs because there has never been anything there. DD wasn't so fortunate.

I came on to say have your thyroid checked, but Granny beat me to it. Worth asking, especially if you have any other symptoms, as loss of leg hair is a known side effect of underactive thyroid, along with exhaustion, aching muscles and joints, memory/focus problems, depression and various other lovely symptoms!
