Have a rare day off and plans to meet up with some friends and their toddlers.

My friends family has had a rough run with lots of nasty bugs this winter. I understand she has cabin fever. However after telling her child has had a very upset stomach and has been vomiting every 2 hrs since Wednesday, yesterday. It seems she is fine to come along today.

It's becoming a bit of trend as last time I saw her she was very poorly ( in bed for a week poorly just got up for the meet up) and we all got ill after ( which have been totally unrelated I know)

Of course life goes on with coughs and cold ect but nasty bugs that lay you up surely you should steer clear of social events?

Yanbu

Sounds like she'll be there though so....I'd give her and her germs a miss.

I would just cancel. I can't take more time off work at the moment, so meeting up to spread vomiting bugs isn't something I'd want to do, however nice to meet up.

I usually solve this by texting the person if we have a virus or bug and letting them make up their own mind. Most people are sensible, and don't then not come for a sniffle or cold, but do avoid nastier viruses (flu, bad cold) and vomiting bugs.

I would say no, let's meet another time!

Good for you kitten. This is my absolute pet hate, so many otherwise good friends of mine do this and one even put my 2 month old at risk (he ended up with horrific virus which went on for nearly 2months and meant he didn't sleep more than an hour at a time till he was nearly 1). Glad ur skipping a dose of her horrid bugs.

Oh monkey your poor little boy how selfish!

I suffer massively from cabin fever, I hate being stuck in for more than a day and look forward to 'events'/meet ups with a lot of excitement (can you tell I don't get out much? Wink ) but I never risk spreading my son's or my own germs to anybody, and my friends and family are almost religious about doing the same. I see you have cancelled now, but maybe in the future just make it as clear as possible e.g. 'Is your DS/DD/you definitely ok now?Only asking cos my DC has only just got over XYZ and I'd hate him/her to get poorly again..it's hard work when they're poorly isn't it?!' Easier said than done I know, but you should be able to say things like that as it's a perfectly reasonable question. Add in extra smileys or kisses via text if you're shy

And wow, monkey, that's awful I can't believe anyone would be so selfish with a tiny newborn Angry poor you
