To want antibiotics

I've been ill for coming up to 8 weeks. It started as a mild flu, very sore throat, slight temp, headache, achey, and feeling generally unwell.

I now STILL have a blistery sore throat that's very red, and feel tired, ill, and fed up. I had a test for glandular fever, which, to everyone's surprise, came back negative.

What would you do?

I don't think anyone but a doctor can really tell you. I'm just getting over a horrible virus that sounds a bit like yours, but without the blistering (afaik).

Last year I had something that didn't feel that different but with horrible hacking, wheezing cough, and I had to go to the doctors lots of times before they found that it was bacterial and I needed anti bios, plus inhaler and steroids. So you can't really tell I don't think!
