To have only just found out Eddie Izzard is on the run again.

I usually get the bus to work so rarely hear the radio, but got a lift in today and only just found out that Eddie Izzard is half way through 27 marathons in 27 days! (For Sport Relief)

He's done it before in the UK, this time he's in Africa. Haven't seen anything on news websites or Facebook about it, clearly I'm living under a rock.

I'm a massive Eddie Izzard fan, so thought I would do a bit of bragging on his behalf while on my coffee break!

Sod all that running. He never looks built for it, bloody good effort :)

If I recall correctly the black wee was caused by his kidneys bleeding from being joggled around so much. It was more blackcurrant coloured than black.

As a person he seems like a really decent chap, but I don't really enjoy him as an entertainer. DH is a big fan and for his birthday a few weeks ago we went to see Eddie Izzard's latest tour. Bits were amusing, and he's certainly not offensive in any way, but I found all the surreal waffling quite dull.

He seems to be very very driven. Almost to the point of madness. It's insane to run 27 marathons in 27 days but he just seems utterly single minded. Way beyond logic.

Well apparently he was with his manager for years but God knows if they're still together. He's never ever spoken about it.

I don't find him funny at all. He's smug like Michael McIntyre. But I am in awe of his running and good on him.

In the documentary he did on the BBC a while back, there was a very brief mention. He came across as incredibly private, and not wanting to expose his friends to the paparazzi. (I know there should be a law against that kind of behaviour, but until there is ...)

He was with the same women for nearly 20 years, they are still in business together but no longer together. He is very private.

I'm confused about these marathons - hasn't he already completed a very similar challenge in South Africa?

He once helped me take my suitcase from the overhead locker and carried it down the aeroplane stairs for me. So he gets the thumbs up from me!

Lovely guy. I especially loved him as Gideon in Hannibal. Both whimsical and completely murderous.

I want to see him rung a mile of a marathon like this.. then he can put his proper gear back on

I find the suffering for charity a bit sick and don't think it's an inspirational thing to do at all.

I'm not keen either 2rebecca it doesn't sit right with me I saw davina collapse after doing a "thing" how is that entertainment putting yourself through pain and illness for charity is stupid

Bloody hair you are some armchair begrudgers! It's not about suffering, or entertainment, he's raising millions. He's saved countless lives with the money made from his marathons. What the fuck have you done that is inspirational or put 2 million quid into saving dying children?
