Honestly, don't spend £1k on a sofa from DFS. The quality is not reflected in the price and you will regret it before a year has passed.

Look elsewhere, sofaworks get good reviews, as does sofa sofa. You can build your own with John Lewis.

Thanks ladies but it really does have to be new.

This probably makes no sense and trust me I am in no way anti second hand stuff but for beds and sofas - no.

I think sofa quality in general has gone down so fewer half decent second hand options unless you want humongous corner groups.

The link I posted is new, I bought my sofa from them, miles cheaper than dfs was. I rang them and asked for the specific colour we wanted, and they got it no problem.

As someone has already posted I think you can get interest free credit at Sofaworks and you can pay it off early if you want to (although I'd rather earn the interest in my own account but that's probably just a point if principle as it'll amount to about 50p!) Remember that there is usually a lead time of a few weeks with sofas too...

Given they are both from dfs what I said previously about quality doesn't apply - they will be of broadly similar quality.

I agree with you about avoiding 2nd hand - you never know what gross substances may have been deposited on them over the years.
