Just that really, I've been around here a little while now and have pretty much worked out the lingo however the Biscuit still confuses me?

That's a jammie dodger.
People use it when people are being a bit OTT or a bit Jammie.
I think anyway. Grin

It's the picture equivalent of someone tutting and saying,
"Really? Yeah right, do fuck off"

littlejolee · 02/03/2016 09:29

Yeah pretty much what pp said. Something along the lines of 'really? That takes the biscuit.'

GlitteryFluff · 02/03/2016 09:38

Hmm I thought it was to do with a politicians favourite biscuit question or something?

acasualobserver · 02/03/2016 09:40

They represent contempt for another poster's comments.

LilaTheTiger · 02/03/2016 09:43

Didn't it appear after Gordon Brown was asked what his favourite biscuit was on a Mumsnet chat. And something went a bit weird and it was on the news that night?

cranberryx · 02/03/2016 10:48

I always thought it was kind of a pat on the head. "Have a biscuit and really think about what you said. and grow up "

Or something like that.

PurpleDaisies · 02/03/2016 10:50

I think officially they're supposed to be " no comment" but I've always used them as a pictorial equivalent of oh ffs you're being utterly pathetic/ridiculous and if I were to write what I really thought I'd get deleted.

ppandj · 02/03/2016 10:52

BlushConfused in my naivety I've been offering them with Wine and Thanks!! Whoops.

tigermoll · 02/03/2016 11:28

I always thought they were the equivalent of when IRL someone is being whiny/unreasonable/demanding/deliberately difficult and you say "what do you want? A biscuit??" as if they were a small child.

It's a sort of general dismissive "you're being childish" thing.

molyholy · 02/03/2016 11:46

I see it as a 'Oh shut the fuck up, you utter, utter idiot'

MrsFrisbyMouse · 02/03/2016 12:11

I've always thought of it as 'shove a biccy in ya gob'

MrsFrisbyMouse · 02/03/2016 12:13

though if you pair it with the tea - then it's a nice thing.

Brew Biscuit

(though in the smiley list it's listed as no comment)

Wardrobespierre · 02/03/2016 12:21

It means no comment officially but is suffused with all sorts of meaning according to context.

VertigoNun · 02/03/2016 12:28

I thought others used them as a two finger insult.

To me they are a tit. BiscuitBiscuit

SqueegyBeckinheim · 02/03/2016 12:31

They also look a bit like a cat's bum .

RitaVinTease · 02/03/2016 12:35

I give a BrewBiscuit to be nice. Sorry if I offended anyone. Blush
I thought Star could be taken either way, either genuine or sarky.

I wish there was a translation of all the lingo for us noobs...

To ask what the biscuits are?
BearFeet · 02/03/2016 13:21

I think it means "no comment"

Maudofallhopefulness · 02/03/2016 13:25

'No comment' after a Gordon Brown webchat when he refused to name his favourite biscuit. It's become a PA fuck off sign.

blueturtle6 · 02/03/2016 15:20

I thought they were doughnuts to eat whilst reading a thread which is going to be long and controversial Blush
