To think I might be pregnant (please please tell me I am!)

So - I had unprotected sex about a month ago (I know I know - very stupid) The pregnancy risk was a worry, but my period arrived 8 days later so I figured all was good. Period was normal heavyish flow but quite 'clotty' (sorry for TMI!)

However, for the last few days I've felt really weird. My boobs are incredibly sore at a time in my cycle when they normally wouldn't be. I'm alternating between feeling nauseous and feeling so hungry that I can't get enough food down me. Do you think there's a chance I could be pregnant, even with having had my period.

I do have a pregnancy test but I'm putting off taking it as if it's positive it would be a bloody disaster!

So - before I take it I'm looking for reassurance - and please, no safe sex lectures - believe me this won't happen again!!

Highly unlikely IMO if you had a heavy period 8 days after the sex. Unless that was an implant bleed but I wouldn't expect that to be heavy, not that i have had an implantation bleed so I am not totally sure. Take the test and put your mind at rest, if you are pregnant and you don't want to continue with the pregnancy then finding out as early is possible makes the whole thing easier so don't put your head in the sand. Sounds unlikely with heavyish period. When I had my first pregnancy I got a period but it was really light and never really got going, I realised something was not normal then as my periods are always really heavy. I would take the test anyway though to be on the safe side!! Good luck!

have a think though - do you really not want a baby or are you dicing with disaster deliberately? Be honest with yourself - if you do want a baby and you're desperate, make a plan & go after it properly - russian roulette isn't a way to do things

I convinced myself I was pregnant last month, sore boobs, tired, nauseous but no. Wishful I think.
