Seriously - AIBU?

we have a dog coming to stay.

I'm not a dog person. I have a cat. I've never stayed in a house with a dog, let alone had one in my home!

It's coming to stay for a week, all very unexpected and last minute. It belongs to a relative. We couldn't say no.

I'm nervous, have no idea what to expect, I'm worried about stupid things like DS toys, I'm worried about the cat, about it whining all night.

Your mil would have told whoever was looking after him the vet she uses. If you call them they will be able to tell you if he is vaccinated and if he is do a letter you can take to any birding kennel that will have you. Worth knowing if having him at yours doesn't work out.

Good luck op, I'm sure it'll be fine, you may end up a dog person yet!

He slept all night on the armchair - we had to wake him up! 1yo loves him to bits, and he has been a superstar Smile

Maybe I was worrying for nothing

Fabulous. Glad it's working out. Not all dogs are hooligans. Just mine!

YANBU.

MIL's dog stayed with us for a week. I hated it.

Then, when it had left and I had breathed a sigh of relief, I found a lone poo in the living room. Ugh. Never again.
