To think I'd enjoy working as a traffic warden

I know people hate them but I really think I'd gain pleasure from ticketing people who park like arseholes. It's only since having a new baby and being out with a pram that I've really noticed how often dropped kerbs are blocked and people park so far on the pavement that you can't pass. Hazards don't mean you can park wherever you want. I'm forever having to push DD into the road. I'd have written 5 tickets today on the short walk to the shop. Why are traffic wardens so hated when discouraging illegal parking is very much a good thing.
Maybe a career change after maternity..

i suppose they work on the premises that they are a deterrent

it's not and when they are not their the parking is as crap as ever

i dont drive and am always annoyed that they arent producing tickets, when parents are breaking the rules

My DH is a Civil enforcement officer (traffic warden). He's done the job for 12 years and my, he has some stories to tell!
You seriously need a thick skin in that job. DH has been kicked, shoved, spat on, prodded, poked in the eye with a car key, had a motorist drive over his foot, and threatened to be killed more times than he can recall.
People are selfish arses when they park dangerously eg.school zigzags and they hate to be reminded that they're selfish arses.
He's actually changing his job soon anyway.
All our friends tease him about his job and say our town won't be the same without him there checking cars!
