To wonder if any pull ups can hold his wee

DS1 is 6.5 and still not dry at night. I know he just isn't ready yet so am fine with him in pull uos until he is ready. However every pull up we try leaks. We switched to pull ups about a year ago and all they seem to do is make his bed slightly less wet. I've tried him in huggies, pampered easy ups, I even spent something like £1 a nappy for underjams but they also leak 4 out of 7 nights. We are at a point where we just want dry pj's in the morning, I don't care how thin or how cool the graphics on them are, all of that is great if it actually contains his wee. Has anyone got any advice please?

I'd try the lidl pull ups before using nappies. My DS is a tall 6 yr old and they work perfectly for him. I don't think my DS would accept wearing a nappy - he see's pull ups differently

Have you tried washable ones?

These are supposed to be very good. You do need to wash and dry a few times before they get more absorbent though so probably wash 4/5 times clean before using. Then should get better over time.

I second the suggestion of using libero up and go, it's a pullup rather than a nappy but it holds loads.
They will be useful if / when he starts to find nappies too babyish, they are "more grown up" which is absolutely important for something you pee in.

Maybe try waking him gently a bit later in the night, about 10pm ish and guide him quietly to the toilet(hopefully he'll stay half asleep) get him to sit down and have a wee then nappy or pull ups back on and then guide him back j to bed to doze back off again and then see if he's less wet in the morning.
After having a wee before going to bed, anymore wee collecting in his bladder can then be sorted rather than soaking his nappy/pull up during the night, might just need to go to the toilet again after couple hours of sleep.

Just to follow up, he agreed to wearing a nappy the other day and still fits (only just) into pampers size 6. Since then there have been no leaks however he has only agreed to a nappy on a temporary basis until I can find him some pull ups that work. I am going to see about lifting him, although I know it won't make him dry, it should as NaughtyRed82 pointed out stop him soaking his nappy.

Glad the pampers work. They do come in 6+, if you go to a bigger supermarket they do stock them, and he may feel more comfy. My DS wore them to 8 and a half. Hopefully if you big up how much better it is to have a good nights sleep and wake up in a dry bed/pyjamas he'll agree to stick with them. I never did find a pull-up that worked.

Thanks NotQuiteSoOnEdge I think might try and purchase some today. I think he is coming round to the idea staying with nappies. We haven't had any leak with them so far and I can tell the difference in his mood and energy levels during the day.

My nearly 7 year old still isn't dry and nowhere near ready to be either.

I think someone else mentioned them above, but we use the pyjama pants, age 4-7 size. He was leaking out of nappies and pull ups but very very rarely leaks out of the pyjama pants. The supermarkets sells them and usually they have 2 packs for £8.

My 7 year old is still wet every night and we use the size 6 lidl pulls ups too. we haven't had a leak for ages and they are absolutely sodden in the morning.

They're half the price of dry nights and underjams too!
