We've recently moved across the globe with our children. We now live in a country town in Australia. When we were in the UK, I rode a bike with a tagalong on the back...that's a one wheeled bike attachment which a small kid can sit on and pedal...it makes an ordinary bike into a tandem. You can unclip them easily.

Anyway...I still ride my bike but alone because my daughter is now too big for a tagalong...we gave ours away before we moved here.

My neighbour is in his 80s...very delicate seeming old man...when I first met him my DH saw me speaking to him in the street...DH was in the house and glanced out ....when I got in he asked me what he was like I said..."He's very old, a bit dreamy...it's like he's half in the other world already." which was a bit of a fanciful thing to say but it's the impression I got.

Yesterday DH met him for the first time to speak to...DH was cutting down some plants in the front and the neighbour came out with his wife...he chatted to DH about the weather a bit and then said "What's that thing...when your wife rides her bike...what's that contraption on the back...the extra bike?"

THere IS no contraption on my bike any more. It's not even the same bike. My husband was confused for a moment and said "What?" and the old man's wife waved her hand and mouthed "he gets confused" then she said "Maybe he saw it in a dream."

Weird?

It sounds funny but that contraption...my tagalong was such an important part of my daily life for so long...maybe he saw it's ghost? :D

Grin It's far more likely you or DD have mentioned it to him. Or he's mixed you up with someone else, some time, who had a bicycle attachment.

But I like the idea of asking him who'll be president!

Gruntfuttock · 24/02/2016 13:55

There is no spoon.

TwatMagnet · 24/02/2016 14:00

Well I believe you OP but I'm a sucker for woo shit! Grin

Furiosa · 24/02/2016 14:03

Gruntfuttock What spoon Confused?

Boomingmarvellous · 24/02/2016 14:04

I've seen a dead lady so you are totally right to be freaked.

liz70 · 24/02/2016 14:04

I presume the spoon is a Matrix reference? I've not seen the film myself.

MamaLazarou · 24/02/2016 14:09

Wow, that's really spooky, OP! I love things like that.

Yes, I know there is likely to be a perfectly rational explanation, but where is the fun in that?

Furiosa · 24/02/2016 14:09

Oh I see, this one

OP this is spooky!

Furiosa · 24/02/2016 14:12

Sorry, meant to say THAT is spooky.

Reminds me of when my DS told me about the time my sister ate the last piece of my birthday cake when I was little.

She DID do that but I've never told DS about it. Coincidence but a spooky one

deepdarkwood · 24/02/2016 15:01

That's a cool spooky one - as other's have said lots of explanations, but I'd certainly be tempted to ask him if he chose the blue or the red pill next time you see him.

And watch out for deja vu....

OrangePeels · 24/02/2016 15:12

I had a strange thing happen the other day. Pulled up outside school and there hadn't been any traffic so we were early. I got out DD's reading book and we started to read. I glanced at the clock and it said 7.09 after reading a few pages I glanced at the clock and it still said 7.09. I was a bit confused as it should have moved on so I picked up my phone which also said 7.09. I commented to DD that it was only 7.09 and she looked at the car clock. It then changed to 7.10 then immediately to 7.11 then to 7.12! I looked at my phone and it also said 7.12! DD commented on the times as in "oh yeah it's 7.09. Now it's 7.10. Now it's 7.11 oh look 7.12! How's that happening mummy?"

I was more Hmm than anything but it was just plain weird! Especially since my phone went from 7.09 to 7.12 too!

My phone connects to my car system via blue tooth, however, the clock isn't connected and doesn't change with my phone time. It's the standard digital car clock with the little push buttons to change the time. Every few months I have to adjust it as it isn't the most reliable time keeper.

Just weird...

He is Woo and I think he's going to be a really interesting neighbour. I'd treasure him Smile

LittleMissUpset · 24/02/2016 15:43

Oh wow, you should ask him again another time, I find things like this fascinating!

I'm not psychic but I have dreams about things sometimes which then happen, but I don't know about. Like the time 2 teachers left my kids school, I had a dream about it before it happened, and I honestly had no idea, I know people will say I will have overheard something etc, but nothing Shock

OrangePeels are you with vodaphone?

MargotLovedTom · 24/02/2016 16:22

Last summer I was reading a review of a restaurant which had a wall decorated with record covers. There was photo, and one of the sleeves was "Cover Me" 12" by Bruce Springsteen. I started singing that song as I hadn't heard it for years. Walked into the kitchen an hour or so later and guess which song came on the radio?

Yep.... Dancing In The Dark!

Only joking Wink. Was Cover Me. Spooky.

LittleMissUpset · 24/02/2016 16:25

Lions it really creeps me out too, it happens every now and again but enough for me to notice. I dreamt about a broken down bus last night, and then on my way to somewhere today (not somewhere I regularly go) on a route with a few buses an hour, so I would rarely see one, I saw a broken down bus. I know it's likely coincidence but still!

Margotlovedtom that gave me a right laugh Grin

Only last year my niece was in the garden singing a song that her great granfather made up and used to sing to his grandkids as babies. The grandfather died over 10 years ago.
Her DM asked her where she heard it and she said the nice old man just sang it to me while I was playing.

LilacAndLovely · 24/02/2016 17:27

When I was about 14, I was sitting next to my mum on the sofa and she suddenly shouted 'OW' and jumped up clutching her hand...scared the shit out of me. She said she'd had a really funny pain, strong enough to make her shout.

We were standing together examining her hand when my younger sister came racing in the back door, crying her eyes out and clutching her hand which was covered in blood. She'd slammed her hand in the garden gate and nearly severed two fingers.

Still gives me shivers thinking of it...could be coincidence but weird as.

TwatMagnet · 24/02/2016 17:29

That's pretty high on the 'woo' scale Lilac. I do love this kind of thread. It's possible that I need to get out more Grin

lizzydrippingsghost · 24/02/2016 17:33
