Why do some people not use their front doors?

Why do some people only ever use their back doors? I just don't see the point in having a front door and walking all the way round the back to use the back door. Is there some sort of logic to this?

Mainly the front, but the back garden has access to a different road to the front door, so it does get used as a short cut.

DM mainly uses the back because that's where the car is parked.

In laws house the front door is very much for 3 uses only. We knew my wonderful fil was coming to the end when he said the next time he was leaving the house would be by the front door.
My parents had an extra door fitted at the side of the house, to supplement the two back doors, and blocked the front door up.
They have since had the new side door blocked back up again and now just have the two back doors.

When we bought our first house, which was a tiny terrace, the front door went straight from the street into the front room.
DM couldn't understand why we didn't use the back door. It would mean walking past the front door to half way up the terrace, down the side ally, and then along the back ally and through the back garden.

Front door leads to carpeted floor and pale walls. Back door leads to tiled (read:wipe clean) kitchen. Live in UK (read: never stops fucking raining). Have five sons (definition of 'son': 'a noise with dirt on it.') and a dog (fox shit magnet). Hence use of back door.

Also, the wine is nearer the back door than the front.

I do this a lot. when it's hot my front door swells and is very difficult to open and close. So I use the back.

When it's dry as well I go through the back so i can leave the pram safely in the garden (bring baby in obviously) rather than drag it through the house.

Front doir is only used on a Sunday to walk to church.
Rest of the time back door all the way. This is for several reasons. Parking leads off the garden, back door leads to conservatory so easier for bikes, shoes, dumping bags ect.
