I want to get my 2 children vaccinated.
We had a scare over the weekend which has been awful and I've been trying to find private clinics offering the vaccination and failing miserably.
Anyone know of anywhere currently doing them?
Boots is out of stock until June :-(

thisismypassword children under 1 are getting the immunisations on the NHS. The supply for this group is unaffected. no one should be paying for the jabs for their under 1s.

food is essential for children. But you don't expect asda to fund your children's expenses in this area!

Headofthehive55 · 13/03/2016 08:53

Boots can do it cheaper as they already have the venue, it's just one of the lines they are selling that day.
That's economics of business.
I am presuming you don't expect this clinics staff to be enslavened, and have a say whether they do overtime or not, at at what price?

I could work, helping people 24/7 does it make me a bad person for not?

WifOfBif · 13/03/2016 08:56

They have it in stock at regent street clinic in Notts, they have other branches and I know one of them is in Derby.

My son had his first dose last month and has his second in April. The doctor told us that he is protected from dose one, and the second is like a top up. £300 for both doses.

IslandGirlie · 13/03/2016 08:59

The price of £200 is not just for pop up clinic only, it's same for in their south east clinic and you'd be really outraged by the post in FB group by this clinic, they were outed by parents who pulled up the person who was from the clinic who was trying to arrange a sat clinic appointment for £200 while the parents who were on waiting list were still waiting! Totally not correct practice! It was disgusting and real kick in the stomach for us desperate parents.

Bittspitta I know, my 8 month had it in July (she was one of the first on the nhs programme). I'm thinking about the babies who just missed out in the first half of. 2015 who will need 3 jabs because they're under 1 year old.

PiratePete made avert good point. The media has a lot to answer for (again!)

What ever clinic you go to, if it's private they have to cover their costs re buildings and staff. That's why I suspect the costs appear so large.

Re clinic Saturday's but waiting in the week, that also happens regularly. People may be prepared to come in on a Saturday to staff the clinic (worth their while they get more money) but turn down the offer of a shift on a Thursday. I'm not prepared to come in during the week extra, but I do on Saturdays sometimes.
