to find pooing in the playpark unreasonable?

Just watched dumbfounded as a man hung his grand-daughter over the bench/wall thing in the middle of the playpark and just let her go! Then he tried to make a chummy joke out of it, said people would just think it was a dog, and seemed a bit huffy when I offered him a nappy/babywipes to clean it up.
I appreciate kids get caught short, but surely shitting in the middle of a playpark is a step too far?

well completely dreadful behaviour - of course he should clean it up.

Mind you I don't know if I would always have "clean up" stuff with me - if worst came to worst and my 4 yo had an emergency. Hopefully I'd have a tissue on me, but often no much more to hand.

It does amaze me how many playgrounds don't have toilet facilities nearby though. At our local playground we can luckily dash home, but other playgrounds you have to use facilities provided - and often they aren't.

Which can be a big problem if you are a young child.

Yanbu.

Disgusting. That's why the potette was invented. So you can carry a potty in your bag.

WhiteBlueDaisies · 15/02/2016 15:49

Just gross!

I mean I couldn't get too upset about an emergency poo in a bush(!), but really the middle of a play park?! That's just rank.

228agreenend · 15/02/2016 15:51

Yuck. At least go behind a bush, but not in the park.

Whatamuckingfuddle · 15/02/2016 15:52

Having now rtft, suggesting going in her pants until she got home seems a worse option surely? Maybe the ideal would be to ask around the other parents and, failing that, hide her behind a bush, but if my df is anything to go by, grandfathers have different rules and don't alway quite get it

Desperate toddler in a far corner, cleared up as best you can. Ok. Happens to lots of little people!
Be discrete. Be quiet. Be tidy.

Leaving poo in the middle of the park? I hope he treads in some, near his house, then he might make the connection!

ScrimshawTheSecond · 15/02/2016 16:48

Kid was about 4, I think. She said a few times she needed a poo, and he didn't seem in a massive rush. There's grass about - I just think anywhere other than right where loads of kids are likely to be playing (we were the only ones there at the time) is better.

If it was a surprise poo then he at least should have felt mortified and taken you up on the offer of wipes/bags.
Poor little kid then having to run about with skid marks etc.

hefzi · 15/02/2016 19:06

This is grim- I think it's rank enough that I have a lot of neighbours who poo in the ginnel between the terraces: but in a children's playpark? And with no sense of the fact this was wrong? Sure, children get caught short when there are no public loos - but surely going in the play area itself and making no effort to clear it up would have been a step too far for most people?

Ryanairbride1234 · 15/02/2016 19:38

If it was meant to be like a dog shit, he should have picked it up in a Tesco carrier bag. Gross.

Theladyloriana · 15/02/2016 19:48

Revolting!! Poor kid Blush

kali110 · 16/02/2016 02:18

Rank

boredofusername · 16/02/2016 11:00

Someone once let their toddler poo in a local library. WHICH HAS A PUBLIC LOO NEXT TO IT!

I kid you not.

And ran away without cleaning up, one of the library staff had to do it.

I think if there are no loos around and the child really can't wait, there is little option tough not in the middle of the play park, find a discrete corner underneath a bush. But you've got to clean it up thoroughly.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 16/02/2016 12:15

Aye, I totally agree. I was baffled why he lifted and carried her into the wee sitting wall thing RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the playpark.
