To be angry with my mother

My son is getting married in Eire and my elderly parents live in the UK. My dad has a hearing dog, but it's just their pet, but that's their business. So the easiest way for them to get to the wedding is to fly and I suggested they might find it easier to put the dog in kennels for a couple of nights. As I've said, my dad doesn't use it as a hearing dog. So my dad said ok and my mum said that if the dog couldn't go she wouldn't go.
I've looked into flying with an assistance dog and it looks like you can, but I feel angry with my mum for priorities (I.e. dog first, then her grandson, who is always very good with them).

I would be interested to know how you land a hearing dog for a pet if you have no hearing problems.
While people who could really do with one often can't get one.

Your mum wants to bring the dog, your dad says he doesn't mind leaving it at home. There's no conflict there.

The dog can fly with them (if they fly), so there's no problem there.

Like everyone else, I can't see a) why your father has a hearing dog if he doesn't need it and b) why you've got a problem with the dog accompanying them on their trip to the wedding. You'll need to give us more info, OP!

I don't think the OP is saying that her ddad doesn't need a hearing dog or that the dog is not trained, just that her dad doesn't use it as such.

My dad has profound hearing loss and has two hearing aids which he doesn't wear. Just cause he won't use them doesn't mean he doesn't need them .

OP what's really going on? Your father has a hearing dog because he is hearing impaired. The wedding is in Ireland not Outer Mongolia, the dog can fly so seriously what's the problem?

I'm really not sure what the issue is they're coming aren't they?
