Hi there :)

I really need some inspiration...

DC1 is due soon (no idea what gender) and would love a name ready!

DH's favourite name (boy) is Oliver (I really like it too, but know loads :()

Stuck for girls' names, but I do quite like Darcy...

Thanks in advance x

ScarlettDarling - Scarlett ^ Poppy is nice!

William is nice, but I know I'd call him Willy! Blush

Jack is basic, but I do like! Gabriel sounds too religious, according to DH!

Noah is gorgeous :)

TwatMagnet - I love Theo! I like Matthew too (Matteo is nice)

I think 'Tamsin Mayfield' has a really nice flow to it Smile

LollyLauren · 13/02/2016 21:39

Ida - Tamsin is pretty, but I think I prefer Yasmin! Blush

That flows really nicely too! I like the nicknames from Tamsin better, personally, but both names work well.

Isn't this sort of thing what the Baby Names topic is for?

tomatodizzy · 14/02/2016 03:15

We're abroad so my names are a bit odd but Lucas, Tomas, Emanuel, Caio Tiago, Mateus or José. For girls I like Clara, Olivia, Camila, Isabel, Emily, Yara or Myara.

CatchAPlaneToBarcelona · 14/02/2016 04:18

For a boy I like Jonathan, Matthew, Alexander and Henry.

For a girl I like Emma, Sara, Lara and Imogen.

I like classic timeless names, nothing to 'out there' or faddy.

Kitla · 14/02/2016 04:26

Apart from my own children's names, I like:

Elisabeth for a girl - so versatile, and I have taught Elisabeths known as Ellie, Eliza, Beth, Libby.... So many great names from one.

For boys, I rather like names slightly different: Fabian, Edwin and Jolyon. We never had any boys, which is just as well as my husband hated all my boys name choices :-)

MissRabbitHasTooManyJobs · 14/02/2016 04:47

Lolly- yes he does get Ollie mostly but Oliver when he's being told off Grin

MissRabbitHasTooManyJobs · 14/02/2016 04:52

... and my name begins with L too and it's not been a problem having a daughter with the same initial.
Me and my mum both have the same name-now that's another thing ( completely confusing most of the time ! )

Sometimesithinkimbonkers · 14/02/2016 05:26

I love Corbin, Soloman,Theo, Toby.

Girls I really struggle with.... We had one and we gave her the only name we loved .... Cleo!

Darcy I cannot stand .... Arsey Darcy!!!

HicDraconis · 14/02/2016 05:50

I have boys but if either had been a girl they would have been called Hannah Ruth. I also love Tilly (but short for Mathilde after my lovely grandmother rather than Matilda).

If we'd had more boys I would have had trouble finding names! Was difficult enough coming up with the two we have 😄 I liked Josh, Oliver, Alexander though.

Another Minerva fan! [high-fives Delta] .
DS is Edmund
Other favourites: Alexandra, Rufus, Anita.

Ughnotagain · 14/02/2016 07:34

I used my favourite name on my daughter so I won't share that Wink

But I also really like Evangeline. I wanted it for DD's middle name but DH wasn't arsed for it. I think it just flows really well. And Evie is a cute nn for when they're little.

I think I also had on my list

Ada
Rosa
Camille

(In hindsight, all of these would have been awful for DD!)

We really struggled with boys' names. I love names like Angus, Fergus, Rowan. DH hated all of them! Grin

I like Darcy. Pretty.

Jessbow · 14/02/2016 10:55

Bryony Mayfield sounds pretty
OR
Lucy
Elizabeth- with all the derivations- Libby Mayfield, Kitty Mayfield
Lydia
Anna Mayfield

Somehow short first names flow better

5Hearts · 14/02/2016 11:00

Erica
Georgia

I think I like girls names ending with an 'a' sound really.
