To be really excited about bathing with the baby?

This week my back started getting the better of me while bathing the baby. So I thought sod it, and got in as well.

My word it is so much fun! she has all these toys and accessories that I never did as a child. we have bath crayons and a water mill and a rattle. I've just got a bubble machine and started adding scents to the room. It's ace! I can't wait for my bath tonight.

If any other mums do this, can I ask for more toy recommendations too?

Dd has never liked a bath...

But sometimes she will shower with me.

Ds is far too big for shared washing now!

I can't wait until my DS is big enough to play in the bath with me!

These are such lovely ideas! DD loves baths/water play, I'm definitely pinching some of these.
She has a Tomy rocket that fills with water so that the water sprays out when it blasts off.

I have a scaldingly hot bath but towards the end I add cold water and DH brings up DS (4weeks) and he gets in with me. He loves nothing more than a warm bath, skin to skin and a bit of booby feeding. I really enjoy our bath times together, he's so relaxed and content!

We used to really enjoy baths with the dc, until poogate that is. Kinda took the shine off the experience.

ShamefulPlaceMarker · 03/02/2016 07:53

No for me! Tooo cold! I like a hot bath :)

JellyTotCat · 03/02/2016 07:56

I used to love it too. They used to feel extra cuddly and marshmallowy in the bath.

My children are 9 and 12 years old and they still hop in the bath sometimes. I have been bathing with them since they were newborn !

Our youngest DD8 loves using water pistols, she has since she was about 2.
I also bought her a Duck watering can from B&Q,bright yellow and plastic and she loves it.

Poundland's really good I've found for bath toys,so far I've got the Peppa pig spray soap, different types of character(frozen, peppa pig, tinkerbell,Big Hero 6) sponges, rubber ducks,a bath clock(that has hands you can move and the numbers can be popped out)it's foamy and it can stick onto the tiles with a little bit of water, little plastic turtles that stack together, different character wash mitts,a bath confetti wand(the confetti is inside the plastic handle and it has a star shaped sponge attached to it)Peppa pig bubble bath,Strawberry laces bubble bath.
We also got some lovely little bath finger puppets in Primark(we put them in our youngest's stocking at Christmas)I think they were only £2 and she loves those.

Our 3 youngest all love Gelli Baff as well you can pick that up in Poundland and Poundworld sometimes as well, that's better for when DC are about 3 or 4 so they don't try and eat it.Smile

I had my first bath with all 5DC(not all at the same time though)when they were less than a week old,it was really lovely. My Mum got to see me in the bath with our 3rd DC,DS now 14 when he was only 7 days old and I breastfed him in the bath at the same time.My Mum loved getting to see that(we lost my Mum nearly 2 year ago now) and I'm really glad she did,it was a lovely way for me to bond with our 5DC and my Mum got to share some of that bond that day.Smile

My kids and I loved bathing together. I stopped when I thought it might be getting weird (about age 8). I briefly considered wearing a bikini and then realized I was being ridiculous!

There came a time of course (12-13 yo) when they started locking the bathroom door, and that's it then, it's over!

I managed to get a tall 10 year old DD, 2 yo ear old DS and 20 week pregnant me in the bath the other night! And it's only 1600mm long.
Was a bit of a squeeze but we had fun!
