Have nc'd for this as quite a lot of detail that could out me if anyone I know in RL reads this.

The background: I suffer with severe PCOS - I pretty much never ovulated if left to my own devices. DH has a low sperm count and those he does have don't move very fast. The upshot was we needed ICSI IVF to conceive and, I am happy to say, have a beautiful DS.

After 4 years of treatment, an awful pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, a traumatic birth, severe PND and advancing years we decided that our family was complete with our wonderful boy and so didn't have any further rounds of IVF. Just under a year ago I had a mirena fitted, not for contraceptive purposes - not really necessary! - but on advice to try and get my hormones to behave. In November last year I had to visit the GP for what turned out to be horrendous thrush and as part of the exam she confirmed that the mirena was still in place.

So why, yesterday, did I feel what I remember as being the exact same feeling as when I first felt DS move? It's just above my pubic bone and is that fluttery / popcorn popping type of feeling. I had a period at Christmas and haven't had any symptoms - no sickness, boobs not sore or bigger. I have put on a bit of weight but I broke my foot just before Christmas and so haven't done any exercise for about 6 weeks.

Because of the foot I am having to wait for my Tesco delivery at 4 for a test to arrive - I can't drive to get one and I don't really want to ask anyone.

I am totally freaking out because, on the basis that to feel movement I must be at least 12 weeks, during that time I have had an xray, an mri, have drunk like a fish, smoked the odd ciggy, have had thrush treatment twice, oh and there's the mirena too. I am terrified about what I might have done to the baby, if indeed there is one in there....

So please talk some sense into me and keep me sane until I can test - I can't be pregnant, can I?????

I have PCOS, had fertility treatment for my first two DC and was told couldn't conceive naturally. I was pregnant with DC3 a week after deciding not to have any more children as couldn't face tests and treatments.

Saying that, I sometimes feel movement as if a baby is kicking, usually just in need of a good fart Blush

Hope all is well op.

With you and your hubby having fertility issues and you having a mirena I would say your more likely to be the mystery winner of the 33m!

I can happen though after fertility treatment so your sensible to have the mirena. If you decide to get rid of it do not have unprotected sex, get another type of contraception.
