To be annoyed that Joint Hypermobility Syndrome is overlooked?

We have a history of the above in our family which varies in severity but still has a negative impact on life all the same, it always seems to be treated as nothing....a variation of normal apparently

AIBU to be getting more and more pissed off every time it gets swept under the carpet by schools, professionals and employers?

I'm hypermobile and after doing research into it I'm convinced DS2 and I have EDS.

I was really good at gymnastics as a child, used to be able to get my legs behind my head. Now my wrists won't even support me when I push up in bed.

I had horrendous SPD, ended up in a wheelchair and bedbouund, which has never gone away and resulted in 6 major surgeries on my pelivs. I've got a screw in my SI joint but it still moves enough to push the screw out of place.

I've had balance and fainting problems for years, they put it down as Ménière's disease. My blood pressure is through the floor, I get headaches all the time and my skin is really fragile and stretchy. I've had IBS since I was a teen and horrendously painful periods. I've got pains in so many joints that they decided I had Fibromyalgia about 10 years ago.

DS2 has dislocated his elbows, he was playing football and his wrist went so far back it snapped. The whites of his eyes have a bluish tinge and he's had problems with joints for years. I think DS1 has some symptoms too.

It seems that more and more people are getting diagnosed with it lately.

Haha Clarella I have a very strange image of you with the floaty eyeball. DS can turn his eyelids inside out, It is a self taught skill from the age of about 2 1/2! He used to do it on the bus unbeknownst to me.. I'd get a lot of strange looks
