To be pissed off a "friend" tried to persuade me to take a job by outright LYING about the hours involved?

So someone I thought was a friend has spent ages trying to persuade me to work for her; selling products as part of her team. She really pushed me to see how I could get a better work/life balance by working for her and made out I could make good money working part time hours around my family

Now I have learnt that in fact to earn any kind of money working in this business you have to essentially "get rid of your kids"!!

Feel really really misled

What's kleeneze?

CheeseMeisterGeneral · 28/01/2016 19:15

Selling homewares and cleaning products mostly, used to be by only dropping catalogues door to door, taking orders and then delivering products back to customers directly, now moving more into on line selling and using Facebook pages to sell, get 20% cut goods posted out directly from kleeneze.

cozietoesie · 28/01/2016 19:17

As far as I know, Kleeneze is a MLM also. I'll stand to be corrected on that one because I have no personal knowledge of them.

How can the whole thing be cash in hand though? Don't the Revenue take even a passing interest in the books of the people in charge or those of the company?

cozietoesie · 28/01/2016 19:47

I'm sorry - I see that they have now started to take more than a passing interest.

myusernamewastaken · 28/01/2016 19:48

My facebook feed is full of 'presenters' selling that 'younique' shite.....all accompanied by the presenters photo plastered in make up and a long spiel about wanting to earn a few extra pennies and stay at home with their babies.....it is vomit inducing and i am itching to comment underneath the photo alongside the twats that comment 'can i have some info pls hun' x

Purplepicnic · 28/01/2016 20:02

Kleeneze and Avon focus on selling the product. Recruiting a down line is secondary.

Any organisation that focuses more on the recruitment than the product is to be avoided.

JizzyStradlin · 28/01/2016 20:27

I think it's because you do get the odd later joiner doing ok out of it scarednoob. Obviously it's much easier if you join at the start, but if you're sufficiently unethical and/or have ready enough access to a lot of gullible people, there's potentially still money to be made.

Siwi · 28/01/2016 22:16

Careful what you say folks.

There has been talk of solicitors by a forever defender on the v funny thread in Money Matters.

:)

cozietoesie · 28/01/2016 22:50

Thanks for the hint, Siwi. That thread is a most interesting read. Smile

Siwi · 28/01/2016 22:55

Have you seen the spoof pyramid scheme blog?

The HILARIOUS video on there is what has made them issue their threats so watch it NOW before it gets pulled!

:)

throwingpebbles · 29/01/2016 03:01

Is that the timelessvie.wordpress.com blog siwi ?

Anyone heard of ariix? Quite possibly another MLM company.
Apparantely new to the UK and an old friend who has recently survived cancer has asked me to a "meeting"
She attributes her now good health to these products and is constantly posting on FB about the benefits/money/family flexibility etc.
A quick google search plus the word "scam" has unearthed nothing. Maybe they're too newGrin

cozietoesie · 29/01/2016 09:29

Search on 'arix mlm' forever. You might find that to be more profitable.

foreverton · 29/01/2016 09:50

Think I may need to change my user name ha I support Everton football club and have just realised that it looks like Forever -ton oops Grin

cozietoesie · 29/01/2016 09:53

That's a sobering read, Bogey. I feel so desperately sorry for some of the very good people who become embroiled in MLMs for whatever reason.

throwingpebbles · 29/01/2016 11:41

Wow at the stats on that blog bogey

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 29/01/2016 11:49

I should imagine that people are heading over to the Money Matters board and reading the latest thread there on MLMs. Lots of interesting stats/ links on that.

throwingpebbles · 29/01/2016 14:11

Just had a look, can't believe Forever are threatening legal action Shock

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 29/01/2016 14:15

I think they would be very ill advised to do that.

throwingpebbles · 29/01/2016 14:27

So do I. I am fairly sure what's been discovered and put on that thread is just the tip of the iceberg.
I suspect any legal action would generate unwelcome scrutiny from the press and the currently rather sleepy regulators!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 29/01/2016 14:41

The Revenue would certainly be hard to keep under control at the thought of all that possible disclosure.

Siwi · 29/01/2016 17:39

On the thread in money matters, MNHQ have posted to say that they have had multiple complaints from Forever Living and FL might go to the police.

Down with this sort of thing!
