To think we should ignore the misery-guts posters?

So many threads where a fun lighthearted conversation is happening and one person comes in to piss all over everyone's chips. That's fine I guess - if you want to be a sourpuss party pooper then that's your call. But then everyone starts arguing with that person and what was once a fun thread becomes boring as hell and I stop reading.

Why can't we all just ignore them? Then the one post would disappear amongst the witty, happy ones :)

yes sometimes a real fun thread can be derailed....
but i have seem some pretty horrid posts on light hearted threads. the things you hate most type ones mainly.

Totally agree. I've seen so many fun, light hearted threads ruined by one sour faced poster clomping on determined to take offence at nothing. I'm never sure if they're trouble makers, people with no sense of humour or irony, or posters who just cannot see past their own agenda or hobby horse.

YANBU we should ignore them and the miserable lives they lead. This place would be so much better if we could fill it with sparkle and glitter and unicorns - boo to the misery, yay to fluffy pink clouds.

I would also have to say that it depends on the thread. Someone's fun subject is another person's trigger.

It's when threads get derailed by two arguing poster who both want the last word that bugs me.

People with an agenda are easy to spot as at some point their agenda has to come to the surface. They cant hide it. I dont know who they think theyre fooling or converting, but it just spoils a funny thread.

There are some genuinely hilarious comments on Mumsnet and its one of the friendliest and most welcoming forums.
