DM says it's way too much, so just looking on opinions and what other DC do! My son is 2 1/2... He does swimming, ballet and gymnastics - is it too much? We also do the reading club, at the library, and a family art thing... TY x

DS2 (2.5) goes to playgroup 3 times a week with me (not preschool/nursery). He will start preschool and poss swimming lessons in September.

DD (8) does music lesson, choir, chess, Brownies, swimming, youth club. 3 of those are at/after school though.

DS1 (5) does swimming, football, Beavers, all outside of school.

DD (7) Ski's once or twice a week (dry slope out of season) and horse-riding. She also plays violin (classes in school but practices at home) and does art class after school once per week.

I think you do whatever they enjoy, as long as you're not forcing them into it and they get time to "just be" too.

at 2.5 surely it depends on your budget and your inclination. If you're happier getting out of the house to a class and the little one enjoys the activities then knock yourself out and go as much as you want to.

Mine are a lot older op

17 year old does lifeguard training (including first aid), sea rangers, rangers and volunteers at a youth club. She works Sat/Sun

10 year old does lifeguard training (including first aid), sea rangers, swimming, netball and cross country running. She goes to a church club one day after school for a smoothie and cookie. Netball and cross country are after school activities and free. Lifeguards is £2.50 a week each and teen pays her rangers subs. I cover swimming lessons, sea rangers and lifeguards.

Depends on age, budget, time - an activity a day at preschool age is fine! Mine had swimming, tumble tots, library reading circle, something or other music related (think it was a lot of sitting around in a circle and bashing on various percussion instruments mainly) before they started nursery.

At 8&9 they do karate (every day - so 7-9 sessions a week depending on whether they do one or two classes) and music (one drums, one piano). Nothing else, but then they don't have time for anything else with homework on top of that.
