To really want to call the police?

Lying in bed with my baby and partner. All I can hear is a bunch of loud "ghetto" sounding people. I tried to ignore it but THEN I hear the conversation turn to stabbing. One guy is telling the others where best to stab a man. Another man asking for further advice on how to stab some guy. I looked out the window because I'm nosey. 10+ guys smoking weed in tiny garden.

My partner has told me to leave it, I want to call the police because their noise and conversation is passing me off. IT'S A SUNDAY FFS. Also how can anyone be so dumb as to talk about criminal activities so bloody loudly?

I have a feeling that I should say yes as it's painting me in a bad light. Although it isn't. Is it honestly just me who occasionally looks down on others? Even if it's just to myself and I don't tell anyone else.

Some nasty fuckers are standing outside the OP's house talking about how best to stab someone and yet the thread police here are convinced she's making it up, or being snobby to call them ghetto, or that it must be teenage bravado. You haven't got a fucking clue, honestly.

Having grown up in a rough area, you better believe then when they're talking about stabbing people because they're not all making it up!

And of course you can tell if someone is smoking weed with your eyes, because it looks like they're smoking weed! Maybe you can't tell, but I know I can, if I get a good enough look.

HodgePodge23 yes do call the police. If you're somewhere urban imagine they're overstretched and won't come, but the casual discussion of stabbing is disturbing. Let the police decide if they want to investigate.

They're lucky they don't get arrested!

This reminds me of doing video at college. Our tutors told us we could do it about anything we liked as long as there were no guns in it. One of the previous years had got themselves arrested while filming an action scene with pretend guns in the local park!

They don't exactly sound like seasoned stabbers to me- wouldn't need to ask if they were experienced would they?

And they don't know the first rule of being ghetto; first rule of ghetto is to disguise your inexperience at doing ghetto things.

Teenagers round my way talk gibberish at times because they think it makes them look cool. Lots of po po this and that. ds tells me it's from playing GTA (he despises GTA becasue it's not a strategy game). Smoking weed is pretty common and very distinctive. Neither would bother me unless it was very noisy. Although the dog would go crazy if they were close by.

Surely all that happens with the 101 call is that if there are police in the area they might drive down the OP's street? Seems a very reasonable thing to call about, disturbing the peace if nothing else.

We also had a group wanting to film some sort of video on our university grounds (at night in one of the car parks), that involved fake guns rather than stabbing. We told them we'd call the police if they did because it might really upset some of our students.

Some people really just don't think through the potential implications of what they are doing.
