I don't know if anyone has seen the video going round on FB where they have imposed Mr Bean into the 50 shades movie [ trailer]] but I reposted it on my FB as I thought it would raise a laugh.

This was her response:

*Was worried about watching this, thought it might ruin my love for 50... My feelings about these two films/characters are on completely different ends of the spectrum. Fortunately, it wasn't funny at all, even DP who hates 50 as much as she loves Bean thought it was shit too.

50 is saved. Bean remains dreadful. Win*

Then promptly told me to get Bean off her news feed!

Video was funny.

Your mate obviously has strange ideas of funny.

Well edited too!

JellyTotCat · 20/01/2016 13:49

The video is funny. Your friend sounds like a bit of a twat

MrsHathaway · 20/01/2016 13:56

I thought the video was hilarious, myself.

Unfollow/block/unfriend if you're bothered.

bettyberry · 20/01/2016 14:01

Bwahahah! omg thank you for that Grin

Don't worry OP. I wrote a review of 50 shades when it first came out and I was critical about the book. This lead to one woman completely blowing her top at me on twitter. I think It killed her fantasy. Not that 50 shades really was much of one anyway :/

NotGonnaAnswerThePhone · 20/01/2016 14:25

I have really thought about this and she is definitely not joking. She has read all the books and seen the film 3 times...

I will be posting some Mr Bean photo's today

And for the record, she is a massive Twilight fan

Sitting here gigging at that. Your friend sounds a bundle of laughs!

Cerseirys · 20/01/2016 14:49

Then promptly told me to get Bean off her news feed!

If she's so dim that she can't figure out how to hide people from her newsfeed then she shouldn't be allowed to use Facebook...

theycallmemellojello · 20/01/2016 14:55

I don't understand what is wrong with that response! Is it because she said she didn't find the video funny? I think it's a bit uptight to get upset about that tbh, presuming you didn't actually make the video yourself. Why shouldn't friends have different opinions about books/films etc?

theycallmemellojello · 20/01/2016 14:56

And I definitely don't think that 'get bean off my newsfeed' can be anything other than a joke. I think you're overthinking op.

Cerseirys · 20/01/2016 15:00

Isn't the point that her friend didn't appear to get that the video was a joke?

theycallmemellojello · 20/01/2016 15:04

I think her comment makes it clear she knows it was a joke, she just didn't find it funny (and was relieved at this as since in her view the joke fell flat it didn't sully 50sog for her!)

Birdsgottafly · 20/01/2016 15:10

She's being ridiculous to react like that. I hate 50 and Bean, but could see the humour.

""I will be posting some Mr Bean photo's today.""

Just respect that he was portraying someone with a range of conditions to get a laugh and not everyone, particularly parents/family/Carers/those that have conditions, find Bean funny.

I lost respect for Rowan Atkinson, the first series was appalling, he toned it down a bit.

My point is that you may get comments that say that and should show them some respect, because there valid opinions.

BerylStreep · 20/01/2016 15:11

Vair funny.

I haven't seen Fifty shades either, but forced myself to read the book.

Cheeseoncrumpets · 20/01/2016 16:12

Urgggh people who "love" Twilight and 50 Shades really grind my gears. Go and read a proper book, preferably one that'doesn't read like it was written by a ten year old. 50 Shades is easily the worst thing I've ever read, so, so badly written and the sex scene were hilariously bad.

Is it wrong that I really think badly of fans of these sagas? They are just so awful, I think generally they are popular with people who aren't very bright...

Sorry.
