People putting their feet on seats on public transport - what is their thought process?

Sat on the back seat of a bus this morning, 3 people had their feet up on the seats in front of them! They were all on their own and in their late teens/early 20's. Do they genuinely not understand that other people have to sit there or do they know this and think 'fuck it'? Not that it makes any difference but seeing as it is Winter, the bottom of their shoes can't be spotless!

Of course I am not a bully. Telling people they are being inconsiderate and rude is not bullying.

originalmavis · 20/01/2016 19:34

Picking your arguments isn't being a bully. There aresome serious nutbags around! Did you see the news today where a father waited for then battered a TA because she told his kid off at school?

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 20/01/2016 19:42

Well exactly! You can't tell who is a nutbag just by looking at them. You could tell off the meekest mildmildered looking person for putting their feet up on a seat and they could just snap and beat you up. Really not worth it imo. I hate people swearing loudly on public transport but I don't approach them and tell them to stop. I just wish the sodding journey would hurry up and end.

PollyPocket100 · 20/01/2016 20:06

Not something I do personally but couldn't care less when I see others doing it when there are seats free to do so.

bellaSorela · 20/01/2016 20:09

Which is why i never sit on my bed or sofa with outdoor clothes.

TSSDNCOP · 20/01/2016 22:02

There is no thought process.

It is the behaviour of the hard of thinking.

I actually think it's worse in summer when women take off their cheap, filthy pumps and put their sweating, cracked-heel, chipped nail-polished bunioned hooves on the seat.

wankers.

Saw a man blow his nose on his hand and then wipe it on the bus seat a while ago. Tore him a new arsehole for it and he got off the bus humiliated.

sashh · 21/01/2016 05:52

I put my feet up - but it is my feet, not shoes and I usually have a scarf with me to put under them.

HelpfulChap · 21/01/2016 05:56

Bang out of order, inconsiderate and just bad manners.

Eurgh, filthy bastard! Glad you told him off for it Ginger.

Anotherusername1 · 21/01/2016 11:45

what a lot of pearl-clutching here. I bet most of you would actually sit on the floor on the train if it was a long journey and there were no seats

Yes I do. And I never think of shoes caked in dog poo. I just want to sit :)

Anotherusername1 · 21/01/2016 11:46

Yes and only got a suspended sentence :(

zoemaguire · 21/01/2016 11:53

Wait, bella, you never sit on your sofa with outdoor clothes?! What do you do about guests? Make them change into pjs first, or sit on hard chairs in the kitchen?

Lottapianos · 21/01/2016 12:59

Bloody good for you Ginger. Seriously, are there no limits to what people will do in public??? So disgusting.
