The bloody make up one from yesterday is still irritating me.

Right Mardy, that's enough. 5 hours ago you started this thread and here we are, still hanging.

Lookdownthesofa · 18/01/2016 21:23

As far as I know, not even the OP of the "someone paid for my xmas dinner" one found out who it was, so wasn't able to neatly wrap up the thread.

The make up one is doing my head in though.

WonderingAspie · 18/01/2016 21:26

Yes I hate this too. I find it kind of rude actually that someone will post for advice, lots of people will take time to read it and try an offer some help or advice then they don't bother returning. It's like walking off mid conversation with someone without explaining why Grin.

AlpacaLypse · 18/01/2016 21:28

The question is, is this mardybra or MardyBra or Mardybra ? Since sodding bloody Jeffrey, I'm no longer certain if OPs are the same old people I knew or not! If it's the old mardybra I know she'll be back. If it's a copycat name, hmmm....

londonrach · 18/01/2016 21:29

The one where op had loose friends who invited themshelves to stay for xmas. Op never updated if they did turn up. If i didnt see the update can someone tell me!

londonrach · 18/01/2016 21:30

Cake..what did happen with the make up?

ZedWoman · 18/01/2016 21:33

The veil lady is never coming back.

Hassled · 18/01/2016 21:33

Sometimes the thread gets so out of hand and barking mad that I look at it and think "well, if I were the OP I'd run for the hills as well". Sometimes it's fair enough.

It's the fact ones that wind me up the most. Very specific questions requiring a degree of time and effort to answer. And then - fuck all. No thanks, no nothing.

Think op did this on purpose Shock

JanuaryKat · 18/01/2016 21:48

I'm guilty of this but in my defence I would like to say that I have posted when in a very low place emotionally.

Lack of updates has been due to stuff happening in RL, but that's not to say replies are not appreciated.

Sometimes a poster isn't in the right place mentally to respond.

But if it's about shopping, make up or holidays I think thread abandonment is v unreasonable Smile

Oh dear, did I start this thread and go out for the evening?

Yes, it's mardy mardy Alpaca. I managed to escape Jeffrey's list.

Have just skim read the veil thread. There's no way she's coming back. Grin

Awfullyproper I remember the light switch one too and wondered what happened. Smile

Oops, thought they automatically changed into neat little links!

scrumptiouscrumpets · 19/01/2016 11:54

Not half as annoying as all those posters who write, "any thoughts OP?", "Where are you OP?" The OP isn't obliged to update, especially not if it's something sensitive and they have been asking for advice. It's not a soap opera, it is real life for the OP, after all.
Besides, some threads get so nasty I understand the OP doesn't want to come back.

MardyBra · 19/01/2016 15:09

Thanks Cake.

That make-up thread is just bizarre.

What's the problem? People have lives outside of Mumsnet.

What's the problem? People have lives outside of Mumsnet.

Yes of course, but why post a question/comment/problem and expect a response if you are not going to engage in a conversation? Confused

80schild · 19/01/2016 19:02

Guilty. I have occasionally left a thread without giving an update, usually because my children are misbehaving (which is probably the reason I started the thread in the first place).

Do they? Confused
