Just that. How can it possibly be done?

I couldn't, even with tampax super plus.

I have on holiday with tampax no problem

ginmakesitallok · 17/01/2016 12:59

I do, with super tampax, change before and after swimming

SirBoobAlot · 17/01/2016 12:59

Mooncup. No problem.

Thefitfatty · 17/01/2016 12:59

YABU, tampax work fine for me.

Osolea · 17/01/2016 12:59

I do it all the time. It's fine.

Boleh · 17/01/2016 12:59

Of course you can, I swim and scuba dive using tampax, just make sure you aren't in there longer than it would usually last for and change as soon as you get out.

pasturesgreen · 17/01/2016 13:00

Personally I don't like to, but of course you can!

Nydj · 17/01/2016 13:00

Just because you felt unable to swim even with a tampon doesn't mean that the same will apply to everyone else.

IndomitabIe · 17/01/2016 13:00

Maybe it's just me, but... cup or tampon, they both just fill with water. (and no, I have no pelvic floor issues!).

don't like getting cold & wet anyway

PurpleTraitor · 17/01/2016 13:01

I swim twice a week every week.

Do you have especially heavy periods? Might you benefit from a trip to the GP?

Cleensheetsandbedding · 17/01/2016 13:01

of course you can Hmm

If I put a tampon to the top it doesn't get even slightly wet.

And obviously all the professional swimmers do Wink

HermioneJeanGranger · 17/01/2016 13:03

Why would you want to put your life on hold for a period unless it made you so sick you had no choice? Confused

Of course you can swim when you have your period, although I wouldn't on the first day because my cramps make me feel sick.

GrinAndTonic · 17/01/2016 13:03

Really? I understand everyone feels differently but I find these beliefs stop some young girls from swimming.
I have horrifically heavy periods but I've swum in the pool and ocean, played waterpolo and done squad swimming all with a tampon in. You only lose mls not litres.

TheGoldenApplesOfTheSun · 17/01/2016 13:04

Of course you can swim! No need for Tampax necessarily either, I used to swim in the sea all the time on my period - dark swimsuit & towels, all will be well.

lostinmiddlemarch · 17/01/2016 13:07

I see. Thanks for responding. So maybe I have a problem...I can't rely on tampax at all, for any length of time.

Glad to see so many women are able to do this.

I swim when on my period. I can't see why not.

I would give a few tampons a go.

mamacasshadahairyass · 17/01/2016 13:14

I cant cant on tampax wither. That's why i use lil lets.

I used to swim competitively until I was 18. Still do recreationaly for fitness. Never ever been a problem. And Ive never heard of or experinced a tampon filling with water.

HermioneJeanGranger · 17/01/2016 13:14

What brand are you using? Not all brands are the same for everyone. I can't use Tampax and find they leak, but Lillets are perfect for me. Keep trying different brands until you find one you like.

mamacasshadahairyass · 17/01/2016 13:14

*cant count

lorelei9 · 17/01/2016 13:14

I couldn't either, periods far too heavy to risk it plus I would feel odd. I think it depends on the individual.

mamacasshadahairyass · 17/01/2016 13:15

Bloody hell... Either, not wither. Blush

BikeGeek · 17/01/2016 13:17

Can understand if you have heavy periods that you don't realise how different your experience can be to others. I have one or two days a month where swimming would not be possible.
