frequently heard on mn, and it seems to be an 'in' expression, what expressions irritate you. do't be 'judgy' or 'entitled' either !smile

i cant stand passive aggressive...gets right on my hooters! whats wrong with the good old 'you sarcastic cow!'...none of this...'well theres NO need to be quite so passive aggressive' in an affected offended tone, whilst clutching their pearls!!

I like pearl clutchers/clutching, because it reminds me of what it says on the tin!

I love 'judgy pants', because it reminds me of a woman hoisting on some huge bridget jones granny knickers in order to pass a comment :D

Both of those are comedic descriptors of an attitude, whereas I think passive aggressive/ness is a...well a passive aggressive way of saying someone is being nasty/sarcastic/not agreeing with you, instead of just being honest and saying 'theres no need to be rude/nasty/sarcastic' or even just a simple 'whatever'

I dont like 'no is a complete sentence' it always sounds very alphalpha sprout and hessian tampons to me.

it confuses me sometimes with the abbreviations.... DSS (as in the pre DWP social security??) DM (as in the bovver boots??) DP (as in...well lets not even go there!)

but i think the use of these makes people feel they belong...like learning the lingo/colloquialisms of a new country/town, it all just helps you to fit in (or at least feel that way) in a virtual community.

I think passive aggressive is a brilliant term!

'Passive aggressive' is the best term to describe my ex. Can't think of another way of describing him.

What I hate about the use of "PA" on here is that, in my opinion, the person is just trying to assert themselves without swinging great bloody axes or something and is actually being quite reasonable. But the accusation of "PA" is actually against the perceived "aggression" component (rather than the gentle, polite, wrongly named "passive" component) so in other words, a whole lot of people think that it's best never to stand up for yourself at all. or - women - know your place. "FFS! It's only an [x]. No need for the passive aggressive speech!" well actually it was my x.

MsColouring · 11/01/2016 22:13

Fidelia - you have just described my ex demonstrating my point!

I don't mind passive aggressive when used correctly, although I abhor its misuse.

"Did you mean to be so rude?"

Now this I really hate. It became something of a fad about three years ago. Funny thing is it is not particularly good as a put down as it invites the response 'Yes I did, now piss off.'

That's a red flag from me
Wankspeak for 'that is a bit concerning.' There are so many red red flags on here it is as if Jeremy Corbyn had got into semaphore.

Fuck off to the far side of fuck and once you get there fuck off some more

Might have been amusing if spoken by Malcolm Tucker, but when you've heard it here for the umpteenth time, it sounds like a bunch of well-bred, bookish girls at school 'experimenting' with rude words and thinking they re being really daring.

I also dislike the DS/DH/DM thing and find myself trying to figure out whether the DS is the posters son or sister or whether DD4 is the posters fourth daughter or four year old daughter.
