You're chatting with a friendly aquaintance. The woman you're chatting to is speaking and unexpectedly / accidentally lets out a small but very obvious burp mis sentence .

She says "oh excuse me" and carries on talking .

Do you think she should be embarrassed? Would you think any less of her ?

No, not at all

BertrandRussell · 11/01/2016 10:24

Of course not- you said "excuse me"

I'd definitely judge if you didn't. But you did. Forget it!

OohMavis · 11/01/2016 10:26

I'd be inclined to see if I could produce a better one

Antisoc · 11/01/2016 10:34

It's completely fine and I would hardly register it. Why would you feel embarrassed?

Be a teeny tiny bit embarrassed, apologise and move on. Don't go over board 'being so so so embarrassed' as that will make other people feel awkward.

Unless you are Kate Middleton or some sort of super star no one is scrutinising your behaviour.

OldFarticus · 11/01/2016 10:35

No - don't give it a second thought! (I would probably just be relieved it wasn't me doing the rogue burping for once )

blobbityblob · 11/01/2016 13:08

I'd think nothing of it, everyone burps.
