Re grunting and groaning at the gym!

IABU, I may even be into PMT territory but this wound me up so much I need to rant!

Got on the X-trainer at the gym and almost immediately became aware of the bloke next to me making a lot of unnecessary noise. He wasn't just struggling with being unfit, he was properly groaning. I mean at points I was questioning if he was enjoying himself a little bit too much. It was that bad.

It became more and more off-putting until I quit the X-trainer and moved away onto the treadmill.
I had barely got started when he showed up on the treadmill next to me and immediately started the groaning again. He was only walking FFS!

I ignored him for about 10 minutes and then I could stand it no more and moved away to the strength training machines.

What the fuck was it all about?!
Why the need to make so much noise?

Sure, everyone huffs and puffs, that's the point of cardio but grunting and groaning? STFU!

Bastard!

There are always a few at the gym.

There's one who makes 'sex noises'. Most entertaining. Grin

What irks me more are the women (and it is always women) who have loud phone conversations on the bikes. If you want to chat go and sit in the cafe and do it. Pisses me right off.

Apparently, some men think that grunting is a good way to stop a woman thinking that you might be eyeing her up

For OP's grunter my first bit of advice would be if you are concerned about being seen an eyeing a woman up, don't follow her.

I hate wearing headphones at the gym in case a rogue groan or loud fart comes out.
