My partner has a friend coming over for tonight but now the friend has suggested going out to a pub.. aibu to be a tad upset? It means I'll be on my own.. might as well go to bed lol

Maybe he's blaming the friend but it was always his plan to go to the pub.

Surely you both have a child that has just come out of hospital

Perhaps the friend doesnt realise that you can't arrange for a NYE babysitter at such short notice so that you can go to the pub too?

In any event, it's down to your dp to tell his mate that he can come over and see the NY in with both of you or leave at say, 11pm, and make his own way to a pub of his choice.

After dc's recent hospital admission YANBU to expect his/her df to raise a glass with you at midnight to the continued recovery of your child. Anything less would entitle you to be far more than a 'tad upset' as I most rightminded folk would be seething at such thoughtlessness.

If he wants to slope off down the pub afterwards that would be an entirely different matter, and more especially if he comes back in a fit state to care for dc tomorrow so that you can have some downtime to recover from the stress of dc's illness.
