New boots in the bin?

The other day my bf bought himself a new gadget and I went to put the box and instructions to put in recycling. He said he wanted to keep it. It was still there today and I wanted to tidy so kept the instructions as thought that would be what he wanted but threw the box in recycling. Well he got annoyed when he found out and said he'd told me not to throw it and to go get it out bin. I was in middle of washing window so said I couldn't. He then got my new boots I'd bought today and put them in bin (teach me a lesson?) I went pretty mad. Afterwards h said he'd made sure they were placed on top and on cardboard so not to get dirty. But still...AIBU to be pissed off and slam the door!?

FFS. Ok, you threw the box away, but that was clearly an act of thoughtlessness, not of malice. Insisting you get it out of the bin instead of getting it himself, and then putting your boots in there, was horrible, spiteful and demeaning. It's something a child would do.
I can't believe anyone thinks that's an acceptable response to what you did, I really can't. It's shocking what people will accept as normal behaviour from someone who's supposed to love them.

It is beyond annoying living with someone who over-tidies.

But it's also beyond annoying living with someone who keeps everything - including boxes and instructions for equipment which long since ceased to function but has been stuffed in the garage/shed 'just in case', instead of the bin.

Yes his clutter does appear everywhere!! I wouldn't say I'm an over-tiding however. Was just putting the recycling out. He asked me to get it out bin- I didn't as was busy so he did. From the replies I think we were both U. Perhaps I shouldn't have thrown it but grr he is messy!!

Ooh that's harsh!! Hahaha Grin

If he is messy then that's something you need to address. Just talk to each other and agree what you have space for and what you don't. It shouldn't be that hard.

he can keep the box if he puts it away not leave it lying around
