To be annoyed that I use so much phone credit on nothing at all.

Some mobiles seem to be set to only ring two or three times and go straight to answer phone, consequently charging me about 10p for the privilege. Why shouldn't mobiles just ring and ring and I can decide when to decide that nobody is going to answer it and terminate the call. I'm sick of my pay as you go credit getting eaten up by this. Anybody else get mad about this? Angry

Go for a month by month contract, cheaper and easier then u won't have the rage

I've never known anyone over the age of 12 to have a PAYG phone - could you get an all inclusive one on contract

I'm over 12 and have a PAYG smartphone. 1p per meg for data, 2p per text message and 3p a minute for calls to both mobiles and landlines. It costs me a pound a month to run. Why would I take out a contract that's going to cost me several times as much for the same service?

Loving the smarmy "you're welcome" at the end of a bit of useless advice. Read the OP again before being so helpful

Each person sets their own.

I'm on payasyougo. My contract expired and I didn't want a new phone £10 a month gets me 200 minutes, 2.5gb data and unlimited texts I don't do phone calls and I can upgrade my data every 3 top ups by 500mb for free. Worked out much better than what I could get for what I want than a contract with a new phone which I didn't want.

I've got a 30 day rolling sim only contract with Virgin. It's only £11 a month and I have unlimited calls and texts plus 2GB of data. I can cancel or change it any month I want. So cheaper than payg and not stuck in a 24 month contract.

ImperialBlether · 29/12/2015 15:41

I have a really good deal with Vodafone that only costs about five or six pounds a month. Unlimited phone calls and texts and a lot of data (sorry, can't remember how much.)

Penny I have read the op. Not sure where it says she's tried changing the setting or where she says she has a smartphone. So it was a helpful answer.

PennyHasNoSurname · 29/12/2015 17:48

Because Practice you have given her advice on how to amend her phone settings - its the phones she is calling whose settings are making her call go directly to answerphone
