To call my child Bumpe

NC because this will out me.
MIL insists on referring to my unborn child as 'Bump', she doesn't like when I call it 'It'. Would I be unreasonable to call my child Bumpe-maii after birth (pronounced Boompay of course). I think it sounds classy and French and I imagine MIL will be really annoyed overjoyed that I took her suggestion ignored her suggestions

the possibilities are terrifying endless! If you have siblings, though, and one has a daughter - 'meet my Niece, Bumpe(se), and Daisy'. So much easier on the pelvic floor and bank account, that route.

Still liking 'It', though Xmas Grin

*My colleague refers to her bump/baby as "Bambi" and I can't bear it

"I love stroking my little Bambi"
"I can feel Bambi kicking"*

You do realise that she's actually talking about her fanny writer? Grin

please have this tread deleted as you are giving too much personal information (the full spelling of your child's unique name) not to mention everyone agreeing with you.....surely there is something wrong with that.

Sofiria · 28/12/2015 09:05

Well, I disagree.

Bumpe pronounced boom-pay is a lovely name, but what if ignorant people pronounce it bum-pee? You need a more yooneek spelling. Wink

Kaytee1987 · 28/12/2015 14:49

Haha. I call our unborn child a mixture of it, the baby or (in private with my DH 'the bean') it depends on what I'm saying at the time. Don't see what's wrong with saying 'it' my step dad told me and my dm off for calling it, it.

randomsabreuse · 28/12/2015 14:54

Called outs bladder kicker or BK for short! Were so tempted to call her that or use the initials!

nippiesweetie · 28/12/2015 17:35

How about Spegg or Eggerm?

SilverOldie2 · 28/12/2015 18:30

These all sound quite normal compared to some of the batshit crazy names suggested on the Baby Names forum this year.

mybumps · 29/12/2015 15:12

Spegg sounds like something from ikea, perfect name Grin
