haven't decide yet so no need to shout at me.

I am not sleeping well and am in desperate need of a nap - for various reasons there is no chance of a lie-in or an early night this week.

I could really do with going back to bed for half an hour. I need actual sleep though - laying on the sofa with my eyes shut while they play is not going to cut it. Would you?

"How old? Unless one of them was at least 12 then I wouldn't.."

Bloody hell.......

Yes I would, tgere have times I have been totally unwell so really needed to. Put a film/tv on, tell them your up in the bedroom, and snooze.

DD usually wakes before me at the weekends, and amuses herself for an hour or so without me - she's been doing that since she was about 5. Takes herself to the toilet in the night without me being awake...

It depends on the children involved rather than an arbitrary age, surely?

My three and just five year olds are downstairs playing on their own most weekend mornings. They get up at the crack of dawn, fine in the week but I'd like to stay in bed until after 7 on the weekends.
As long as they know they can wake you if they need anything it's no different to going for a bath.

I am shocked that that there are people who wouldn't trust an 11 year old to entertain themselves safely while you slept for an hour. MY 10 year old dd regularly gets up way before me in the morning, she reads, plays on her ipad watches tv and makes her breakfast. How on earth do these people sleep soundly at night worrying that their kids might get up unsupervised?
