I went on an amazing date last night but am VERY out of practice

So much so, that when it came to goodbyes and what have you, I missed his cue to give me a kiss and - reader, I admit it - I shook his bloody sodding hand I don't know wtf I was thinking

I need to brazen it out! We can't see each other for a few weeks at least due to childcare ishoos. We've chatted but all a bit meh now, I don't blame the poor bugger

I think you need to make a joke about being nervous and out of practice on dates, and leave it at that. Either he is kind and good humoured, or you are better off without him.

Fingers crossed this is something the two of will laugh about in two years time

My first date with my ex I'd taken him home I was pouring us some drinks in the kitchen and he came over to kiss me for the first time. For some reason I sighed, looked at him like and went 'seriously, you want to kiss me when you've not finished ordering my pizza?!' And kind of shooed him out of my kitchen.
He told me months later he thought it was sweet I was obviously nervous. Didn't have the heart to tell him I just really wanted a dominos.

Anyway another vote for the 'here's the kiss I should've given you' text. Hope it works out for you!

Rad I should have reread your opening post before I went to the supermarket this morning. Cruising through the veg section and see a guy DH and I know semi-kind of from years ago. So what do I do? I hug him. I s'pect a handshake may have been more appropriate but hey, at least I didn't kiss him
