Every bloody year DP says she will get a Christmas radio times and she always just gets any TV guide but never the radio times.
I always forget that she does this between Christmas and it winds me up every time, the Christmas radio times is special.

YANBU it's the Radio Times or nothing. It's not Christmas without a copy!

londonrach · 20/12/2015 19:28

Yabu. Tried to read my pil one but found it full of adverts so grapped the freebie one from the paper. So much easier to read.

CatMilkMan · 20/12/2015 19:29

Awwww yessssss I love it when mumsnet agrees with me.

Oh yes - it's the ONLY time I buy a TV thingie and it HAS to be the Radio Times - no inferior substitution will do!!

Leelu6 · 20/12/2015 21:51

£4?! At that price they should be adding an xmas gift! I remember when it was 95p!

Hygellig · 20/12/2015 21:53

IMO it's an essential part of Christmas, even if I don't get quite as excited about Christmas TV these days. Make sure you buy it yourself in future.

But then we are old-fashioned and have it all year on subscription anyway (probably not the target demographic yet as most of the adverts are for stairlifts and planning for your dog's future after you die).

2rebecca · 20/12/2015 21:54

No, it's the only time of year I buy a TV (and radio) guide and it has to be the radio times.
There is a Christmas gift, some kids book if you have an ELC near you that hasn't run out of them

Pipbin · 20/12/2015 21:58

I'm guessing it's so expensive as its the only time they sell any. I never buy one normally but it simply has to be the Radio Times.

Remember when you used to have to buy the Radio Times AND the TV Times?
Yes, we didn't get the TV times though as we 'weren't those kinds of people' apparently.
DH says that his nan continued to get both for years after they had all the listings.

The Radio Times isn't even the BBC anymore.

MabelFurball · 20/12/2015 22:06

YABU
I paid 90p for a paper yesterday which included an Xmas TV guide. Couldn't justify £4 for a TV mag whatever time of year.

YouTheCat · 20/12/2015 22:23

But it's 2 weeks worth of tv guide. Worth every penny.

SisterMoonshine · 20/12/2015 22:32

yabu
Although maybe she should buy it and wrap it up as your present.
